Ravan Sanatkumar Samvaad !

Once Ravan with folded hands and extreme devotion and politeness asked in solitude  Son of BRAMHA ,SAGE SANATKUMAR  – “OH Sage ! who is supreme  most among devatas ? Who is the one , taking the shelter of whom devtas always win over their enemies in war ? Whom do the dwijas worship always  ? Whom do the Yogis meditate UPON ? Oh benevolent one ! kindly answer my questions as you know everything ! .”

Sanatkumar through his divine sight[ yogadruk ] , found out the real intention of RAVANA behind these questions and then said -” Oh son RAVAN ! Listen as I give answer to your questions . One who regulates this UNiverse and sustains it always , one who does not have death and birth , one who is worshipped by both devtas and asuras That imperishable supreme being is HARI NARAYANA .. He is the one from whose navel was born BRAMHA He is the creator of this animate and inanimate world  , taking shelter of HIM al the devatas always win over their enemies in war . Yogis meditate on NARAYANA and dwijas engage in his japa …”

Having listened to Mahrshi’s words , RAVANA again said thus ” Daitya danav always get killed by VISHNU , what happens to these daityas where do they go and what do they achieve ?”

Sanatkumar rishi continues -” those who are killed by other Devatas , they go to the best of  Swarga heaven and after sometime they fall down to earth and according to their previous life’s good and bad deeds they attain births and deaths continuously . BUT those who die in the hands of VISHNU get their ultimate gati as ordained by HARI “

RAVAN with a happy disposition in mind thought for a moment and decided so I shall fight with HARI then . GUAGING the mind of RAVANA , Sanatkumar rishi proclaimed ” oh RAVAN your wish will be fulfilled ! you wait for some more time and enjoy “

HAving said so SAGE continued ” HEy RAVAN ! LORD VISHNU exists everywere , he is omnipotent , he is flowing as river in rivers , he is standing as dense forest among forests .. he is manifested everywhere in all shapes and sizes ..HE is in OMkara , truth , savitri , prithvi , and the He is in SHESHA the one wo is hodling this entire universe ” HE is as devatas among devatas , He is the kAALA , he is the MOON and SUN as present in them , He causes SUNRISE SUNSET day night , HE is in VAYU , he is in fire agni , HE is in INDRA , He is in YAMA , he is parjana , vasus , … Bramha Rudra and all devatas owe to their existence to HIM ,, He causes lighting hesports in all this creation ,and also protects it ..He is present everywhere in all creation and sustains it .. He is  of bluish in color and that too of hue that of lightning  and  wears a  peetambar , Like a golden [ of jambunad fame ] jewellery , MAHALAKSHMI is adorning his chest and she is embracing looking at him with awe …

LORD VISHNU  cannot be seen by any daitya danav devata or nag etc ..ONLY those whom he graces [ yasya prasaadam kurute sa chainam drashtum arhati ] ,those with whom he is pleased only those can see him by his grace alone ..

YAGNYA tapasya , daan or ADHYAYAN  or any other means does not qualify to be eligible to see HIM ..Only his devotees who with single mind  ever engage in his thoughts through unmixed VEDANTA [ unmixed with dirt of doubts ] , whose vision is totally pure and cleansed [ which has become malaheena -amala drushti  ] with vedanta vichaara Only they can see LORD NARAYANA ! “

SAge continues .. -’RAVAN ! now if you want to have his vision easily without any such difficult means , Then in TRETAYUGA , for the welfare of devatas and humans , LORD is taking avatara in IKSHVAKU  lineage as the best of EMPERORS , as the SOn of DASAHRATH b name RAAMa !!!! He will leave for forest along with his brother and wife to uPHOLD the words of his Father . He will wander in DANDAKARANYA along with his wife SEETA who is [maya herself ] …I have told all these to you in details RAVAN ,now worship LORDRAAM along with his consort with continuous devotion[" bhajasva bhaktibhaven sada RAAMAm SHRIYA yutam " ] “

thats the advice SANATKUMAR gives to RAVAN to fulfil his desire of having VISion of LORD RAM in his heart

AGASTYA MUNI says to LORD RAAM ” thus having listened to SAge sanatkumar oh LORD RAM ! Ravan  went into introspection and contemplated thus , I shall make opposition with allthe devatas in the universe and LORD RAM will then oppose me. Ravan having decided so ,became very happy at the possibility of fulfilling his wish

RAVAN thus went on war spree so that he would get a chance to oppose SHRI RAM and then to get KILLED by RAAM , the wise RAVAN  abducted  JAGANMATA devi JANAKI “

One who listens to this katha , or reads it or gives a discourse to others who are interested , he shall attain longevity , freedom from diseases , health and infinite prosperity happiness , he will gain his wishes and make extreme profits and his wealth will never decrease but  will keep  ever increasing

VARAHA NARSIMHA Stotra

प्रह्लादाह्लादहेतुं सकलगुणगणं सच्चिदानंदमात्रं  सैंहासह्योग्रमूर्तिं सदभयमरिशंखौ रमां बिभ्रतं च ।

अंहस्संहारदक्षं विधिभवविहगेन्द्रेन्द्रचंद्रादिवंद्य रक्षोवक्षोविदारोल्लसदमलदृशं नौमि लक्ष्मीनृसिंहम् ॥

वामंाकस्थधराकराञ्जलिपुटप्रेमातिह्रष्टान्तरं सीमातीतगुणं फणीन्द्रफणगश्रीमान्यपादाम्बुजम् ।

कामाद्याकेचक्रशञ्ख ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌सुवरोद्दामाभयोद्यत्करं सामादीडय्वराहरूममलं हे मानसे तं स्मर ॥

कोलाय लसदाकल्पजालाय वनमालिने नीलाय निजभक्तौघपालाय हरये नमः ।

धात्रीं शुभगुणपात्रीमादायाशेषविबुधमोदाय शेषे तमिममदोषे धातुं  हातुं च शंकिनम् शंके ।

नमोऽस्तु हरये युक्तिगिरये निर्जितारये । सम्तगुरवे कल्पतरवे परवेदिनाम् ॥

॥इति श्रीमद्वादिराजपुज्यचरणविरचितं श्रीनृसिंहवराहस्तोत्रं संपूर्णम् ॥

  1. This stotra relieves one from doshas of RAHU .
  2. it removes guru chandal dosha
  3. it gives good mental state of mind
  4. it grants auspicious qualities
  5. it grants that special reasoning which would result in happiness ,pride among peers
  6. it removes doshas that are left even after performing japa homa tapa remedies .
  7. it removes fears of planets ,bad times and ill luck
  8. it gives a able guru
  9. it releases one from the grip of wrong people wrong philosophy
  10. This stotra brings the  grace of VARAH NARSIMHA who is  like kalpvruksha in granting the desires .

Dantadhavanam - – Dental Care Vedic ISHTYLE !

A thought occurred one fine morning , almost entire civilisation is today using tooth brush and tooth paste ….. In the olden days when there was no tooth paste, were all the people suffering from bad breath ? Or pyorrhea was order of the day ? or nasal herbal outburst was accepted disorder ? The way tooth brush brushed aside a natural phenomena of using twigs for dental care is a research unto itself !

Does using branches of tree forms bad dental care ?

EVen today many villager still use neem … Even in some major cities neem twigs are sold across the footpath …But prolonged use of such non juicy dry sticks of neem [ just for the sakeof nostalgia of yester era ] will definitely give way to dental disorders , more so inconsistent qulaity of breath …  So how did the people of yore managed their tooth ? were they using a mantra ” hari….. saaSon  me taazgi ….. dehi me svaha “

On an another note – if Satyavati could throw a frangrance for a yojana , did she still suffer bad breath as she never used COLGATE PEPSODENT CLOSEUP Vicco Neem CIBACA [ so much for brand recall ] …{ are yaar yeh datun ke mammle mein ramayan Mahabharat kahan se cchid gaya …. yeh chiraan ka pichle janam ka bimari hai kya }

Mao se Tung had a lavish lifestyle [ all the while communism was for only common idiotic masses ] , his concubines had only one complaint he had a very stinking pyorrhea [ perhaps that was responsible for regime change and according to promoters of tooth care his single most reason of death , as he only used  jungle weeds and leaves , puss ooozed out of his gums and yet HE continued to rule China under great pain ] [ are mere baap ,. tumhara kya HUL se panga hai kya ? ab Mao tse kahan se agaya is discussion mein , Kabhi to present mein jiyo mere bhai ,, yah to astro bolke future mein ghus jate ho nahi to MAHABHARAT utha ke latei ho , koi mujhe is chiraan ke atyachaari phekam-phaak  se bachaye ! mujhe jeene do - Live and let live  ]

 

Samhita says there are thousands of varieties of datavan[ tooth care ] involving Valli , lata , gulma and vruksha [ ie weedlets  weeds creepers trees etc ] , without going into numerous details . only few which are common and useful and available to people at large shall be discussed ..

The twigs of tress hitherto unknown , whose properties of leaves are unknown , which have twin outgrowths and the twigs that have crest/phalange  divding it into two , twigs which are broken ,torn ,and those that have dried on the tree itself or the one which has no skin  , should not be used for dantadhavanam [ sanskrit term for brushing teeth ] .

The twigs should be 12 inches in size and soft at the front to be chewed and brushed alonside the teeth and gums gently with the fresh juice of the twig cleansing the toungue and throat equally .. . The aam [ bile like scretions or wetern equivalent of serum ] collected overnite obstructs the nadi in the agnya chakra … and with fresh juice of dantadhavan sticks , this nullifies the aam and freshens up the day ….cleanses sinuses and improves vision and gives clear voice  and fresh breath .

But samhita describes specific result arising out of each tree -

  • Vaikankat , coconut and kashmari tree twigs when used for tooth brushing increases BRAMHI DYUTI [ bramhinical light ]
  • Kshem tree gives a beautiful and intelligent ,chaste wife
  • Vata vruksha gives lots of money
  • Arka [ aak ] increases the TEJ [ the spiritual radiance ]
  • Madhu vryksha gives brith of  child
  • Arjun tree gives ability that makes one lovable among the surrounding people
  • Shirish tree and Karanja tree if used for brushing teeth brings in wealth
  • Plaksh tree gives fulfillment of all desires
  • Chameli if used for brushing teeth gives lot of respect in the vicinity
  • Peepal tree will give leadership qualities
  • Badari and Brihati [ Ber [ berries ] and kateri ] gives health and relief from diseases and increase in longevity
  • Khadir and Bel gives enormous prosperity
  • Tanye tree [ tenduva tennesse] and Kadamba tree  gives obtainment of all the desired articles
  • Neem increases the finances
  • Karveerand Bhandeer tree  gives gain of grains
  • Shami tree gives victory over enemies
  • Arjun tree gives capability to wipe out enemies
  • Shyama tree enables to kill enemies
  • Shaal and Ashvakarna tree brings in laurels and awards
  • Devadaru and Vaasika  tree gives honours and medals
  • Priyangu , Apaamaarga , Jaamun and Daalinmba tree gives enormous attraction to the personality whereby everyone adores …
  • One must brush tree in the east or north direction
  • After brushing one must wash and leave the remains of the twig in a neat place and not throw in dust bin … the place where twig is thrown should be pavitra
  • If while dropping the twig the eaten part falls in the eastern or northern direction one will get auspicious results  or stands still firm upwards ….one will get very auspicious results
  • If it stands firm and falls down then one would get sumptous meal that day ..

The method of preparation of the Dantakashta

One should not pluck the twig from the branch and brush , this would only create more plaque and perhaps may be unhygenic as well in long run ….

Jyotish samhita gives an excellent formulae for the preparation such sticks ..

  • Take plenty of twigs 12 inches in size 

STAGE 1

  • Mix Haritaki powder in Gomutra [ cows urine ]
  • soak the twigs in this mixture for seven days

Stage 2

  • Take elaichi , daalchini gandhapatra , sauveer ,honey  , kalimirchi , naagkesar  and kooth  in equal parts and mix it in water to amke a gandhodaka
  • soak the twigs for several days in this mixture

Stage 3

  • Take jayphal 4 parts
  • gandhapatra 2 parts
  • elaichi 1 part
  • Karpur 3 parts
  • make a powder
  • Apply this powder to the twigs

Stage 4

Dry this specialised twigs in SUN

When such a twigs are used for the brushing of teeth one gets

  •  happy disposition
  • Excellent radiance in face
  • Clean mouth
  • Fragrant oral aura
  • and perfumed speech output
  •  and pleasnt to ears VOICE

One must resolve expressively the desire in mind [ to be achieved in an year ] and then remember EIGHT limbed NARAYANA and then brush ones teeth

MangalaGauri Vrata – katha evam Vidhi !

Once , the daughter of Drupad Draupadidevi , having completed her daily chores , seated in a relaxed mood ..asked All knowing SUTA puranik [ after bowing to him religiously ] , ” Oh holy one , I have known many vratas and niyamas and poojas fom you previously …. Now I wish to know the most auspicious among vratas namely MANGALGAURI vrata .. kindly enlighten me about the same !

Suta puranik explains Draupadi ,” Oh daughter of Drupada listen ! The vrata which you intend to know is the one which delivers highest merits in this world ….This vrata increases the longevity of the husband ,gives enormous fame ! I shall narrate it specially for you !

Once upon a time  , in the beautiful famous city of KUNDANIPUR , there lived a very rich  ,extremely devoted to Bramhins and very pious and famous trader  by name DHARMADUTTA . He was living very happily with his equally pious wife . One day a Bhikshu Sanyasi wearing orange robes rudraksha and vibhuti and holding kamandalu and kundala passed by his house . His wife rushed to give him bhiksha , but he went away without noticing her . Second day again he went past deliberately avoiding her bhiksha ….. This happened everyday , the sanyasi just refused to accept bhiksha from her … Sad at these events , She complained to her husband …. Her husband said ” not to worry about it so much … just see to it tommorrow , you carry a bowlfull of gems and gold coins , and put it in his bag ….

Next day waiting for sanyasi with a bowl full  of gold coins .. as soon as sanyasi came she just turned the bowl into his bag even before he could take notice of it ….. Angry at her conduct .. sanyasi cursed her to be without children …then pained at curse , crying profusely she ran after sanyasi and fell at his feet to redeem her from curse , or give some remedies to absolve her off her misconduct …. so that she could beget a child “

Sanyasi took pity on her and advised , ” oh best among the women , repeat before your husband what I say to thee now , Ask you husband to wear black dress and ride a black horse  towards the forest … wherever the horse stops , get down and dig the soil there . He will find a temple full of nine types of jewels .. the deity there is MANGALGAURI .. If your husband worships her with devotion and faith ,  both of you would get relieved from the curse ..and saying thus SANYASI disappeared …

She narrated the same to her husband , pained at the event ,,. next day wearing a black dress and riding black horse , Dharmadutta proceeded towards the forest , the horse took him deep into forest …. Dharmadutta did not partake food or water riding on the horse …. deeply devoted to DEVI … for next 21 days horse went on deeper into the forest …..after 21 days it stopped .. Dharmadutta dug the soil around carefully and as he dug a temple came out of excavation fully decorated with all types of jewels …. MANGALGAURI devi was the deity in the temple…. other deities were in the periphery …. the temple was fully laden with trees and sculptures ….

Dharmadutta thanking sanyasi in the mind ,went further into forest looking for many flowers , barks and leaves to perform pooja of devi in the temple …. BHAVANI impressed and pleased with his devotion ….appeared before him … and asked him ‘Oh trader let me know what type of wealth you wish I shall grant you “

Dharmadutta said ” Oh devi , By your grace I have all the wealth required to live my life ….. I yearn for a child .. please grant me …. ” DEVI said ” Oh arya ! you do not have yoga for child …. But still I give you one boon , so choose what you want among the options I Give  ……

  1. a beautiful daughter who would become widow soon after marriage or
  2. short lived handsome boy
  3. longlived blind son

Dharmadutta said Oh devi give me a short lived handsome son …. so that I can be relieved of my pitru runa ….

PARVATI devi granted and said “behold  the tree above the ganpaty temple , the tree has a fruit … take it and give it to your wife she will bear a child “

Happy the devi’s words , trader climbed the temple of GANAPATY and plucked many fruits from the tree , as he got down to his utter surprise , he would have only one fruit in his hand … so he again climbed and collected many fruits , but again as he descended , only one fruit would remain in his hand … this way he climbed 16 times , but failed to carry many fruits except one …. Ganapaty angry at his conduct . cursed him , since you have climbed on me 16 times …. your son will die at the age of 16 by a snake bite ….

Heavily pained by the curse accepting it as fate … dharmadutta went back to his house …. He gave the fruit to his wife … who after eating it conceived the following night through her husband …..After nine months on  a good muhurta , a very beautiful male child was born …The couple were overjoyed and named the child as “SHIVA” . SHIVA born as he was with the grace of DEVI was growing like a moon in the bright half ….About eight years of age , HE was given UPANAYANA …and his schooling began ,… he was bright and picked up the vidya in two years … at ten His mother insisted that He be married .. Dharmadutta said let him go to KASHI and finish kashiyatra and then we shall get him married … So brotherin law of DHARMADUTTA was designated to take SHIVA along with him to KAshi …

So shiva set out on pilgrimage to KASHI along with his mama …on the way they visited many places of PILGRIMAGE ….and along the way came to a very large famous city of ‘PRATHISHTHA NAGAR ” THe city had a very large garden , so SHIVA and his uncle took rest in the beautiful garden … there were some beautiful damsels playing in the garden …. the most beautiful among them was ‘ SUSHEELA ”   and all the girls were unmarried …. as they were playing , owing to some misunderstanding a verbal fight broke  out between the girls … the other girls started abusing each other with dirty inauspicious words like ‘ vidhwa [ widowed ] , veshyaa ,ganika etc …. SUSHEELA said ” freinds . you are mistakenly , abusing me without reason . i dont understand why ? But these will not affect me because my mother is always engaged in  MANGALAGAURI VRATA  , By the grace of goddess [due to vrata ] I shall always be sumangali till death ….. You know wherever the lamps are lit [ diya ] for mangalgauri vrata , the people dwelling there will never face inauspiciousness ….

As SHE WAS saying these words …. Uncle of SHIva observed this and determined , this girl will be befitting bride for SHIVA ….. so he followed her  to find her whereabouts and talk to her parents …. So he took shiva and stayed in the temple just near the SUSHEELAs house .. here Susheela ‘s father  named Hari was also worried about her marraige and so also his wife ,and wife incindentally spotted a very handsome boy in the temple and urged her husband to talk about their daughter … so HAri went to Shiva’s uncle and proposed the marraige of Shiva and SUsheela ..,Uncle agreed and both were married ….religiously on a fixed date and hari chose to keep the son in law in his house for some days … and did not permit him to go for several years .. Susheela was worshipping MANGALGAURI vrata piously , one day when Shiva and Susheela were sleeping ,,,, Susheela dreamt of GAURI in her dreams instructing her ,,” Oh SUSHEELA get up ,  behold a snake is coming to bite your husband .. place a milk bowl before it and an earthen pot …  snake will drink milk and get into the earthen pot , then you remove your blouse and tie over the pot to seal it …..

Susheela was terrified as her dream broke … she got up and was surprised as a snake crawled towards SHIVA , she immediately put a bowl of milk before it and with courage moved an earthern pot before it … snake drank the milk and went into the pot … , she immediately removed her blouse and tied the pot and sealed it …. and slept peacefully … after some time . SHiva woke her up and said he was feeling hungry …. so she gave him laddos kept as prasaad for the MAA gauri …and he ate them and drank water … just as Susheela was asleep . Shiva and his uncle [ by the inspiration MAA Gauri ] decided to continue their yatra to KASHi as instructed by his Father … and decided to leave without informing them ,…so SHIVA kept the wedding ring in a secret place …. and went away ..

Hari the father in law was highly devoted to his family deity Kuldevata EESHWARA .. so RUDRA took the form of SHIVA and stayed in his house to avoid embarrassment to the family as son in law disappeared ,,..Susheela wanted to complete the vrata next day and gave vayandana to her mother … Mother found  a very precious necklace in the dana box … Mother was extremely happy nd thought her daughter was very happy with her husband .. but she gave the necklace back to the daughter and enquired about such a precious gift , how did son in law accept to donate it to in laws …..

Looking at the gift , Susheela immediately sensed , that Shiva in her house was not her husband ….. She told everything that happened previous night to her parents … here the LORD ISHWARA as SHIVA disappeared … he had come only to complete the vrata for SUSHEELA …

Hari then pained at sudden disappearance of the Son in law … started giving  annadana  to every new visitor of the city [from the hands of SUSHEELA ]… this was going on and on ,, thinking with this he would get his son in law back … [ there is no punya equivalent to annadana , it is perfect remedy for all miseries ]

Here SHIVA along with his uncle visited KASHI and after the darshan of VISHWESWARA , they went to HARIDWAR and took the holy dip in holy ganges .. In Haridwar Shiva gave many dana to able brahmins ,,.and all the meritorious bramhins [ by the inspiration of MANGALGAURI devi ] gave him aasheervada of deerghayush ….

On the way back … suddenly SHIVA collapsed with a loud cry as ‘HA’ ,.. Immediately Uncle tried to revive him after repeated sprinkling of Ganaga water … Shiva regained consciousness …. SHiva said .. ” UNCLE , actually  some terrific looking yamadootas had dragged me out …. they were carrying me away , just when MANGALGAURI DEVI came and shooed them away with her sword … all of them went away , obeying MAA … and I regained my life .. MANGALAGAURI saved my life ”  uncle said do not tell this to anyone … let us go back to our home KUNDANI

While on the way they came to PRATISHTHA nagar .. there they saw people preparing food for the great annadana which was going on for all the new visitors of the city … They asked for some place in the grand kitchen so that they could cook themselves …. The chefs said they are preparing food for the visitors why dont they take food , why they had to cook …. SHIVA said they are back from vrata niyama and teerthayatra  , they will not accept paranna bhojana …

The chefs ran to the master Hari and said someone is insisting on cooking themselves … Hari said kindly bring them to our house with sound of bells and music with utmost respect in a procession like grandeur ….The attendants brought the uncle and SHIVA to their house …. Hari asked Susheela to welcome the atithi … just as susheela bent down to wash the feet .. looking at the marks and beauty of the feet she recognised her husband … She told her father , that the guest was indeed her husband ….

FAther happy but failed to see the wedding ring and  to confirm .. asked the guest whether he indeed was SHIVA his son in law and can he prove it …. SHIVA went inside the house and brought the wedding ring from the secret place …. Father in law was extremely happy.. asked susheela to cook food and give to her husband and thanked his kuldevatas to grant him his wish at succesfful completion of remedy [ annadana ] …….

Hari allowed Shiva to take his wife to his house in KUNDANIPUR …  On the way they found a temple fo MANGALGAURI and it was tuesday of shravana masa …. so SUSHEELA worshipped at the temple and others accepted prasaad stayed in the temple and proceeded further to their house in KUNDANI … just they entered the city , the citizens were overwhelemed at pious couples and ran towards them in groups to welcome them …..

Just a sthey recahed the house .. all the three made sashtanga namaskara to DHARMADUTTA and mother in law of SUSHEELA asked … oh blesssed one .pativrata .. how did you save my son from impending death … what is the vrata you undertook which gave my son deerghaayush ,[longevity ] kindly enlighten that vrata to us all too .. SUSHEELA said oh mother . I do not know of any vrata other than just that , YOU are the Mangalgauri [ maa as present in you ] , Your HUSBAND ,my father in law is indeed PARMESHWARA [ as present in him ] , this son you have borne is only My husband , my deity [ Lord as present in him ] , Serving you three is in itself a vrata for me which brings all the auspiciousness , i know only of this vrata …Thus she served them for many many years ….

SUTA concluded thus to DRAUPADi , ” hey DRUPADNANDINI , those who do this  vrata gain all the wealth fame an longevity ….to the husband and themselves and live happily with sons and grandsons with all auspiciousness …..”

kalasha should be for Uma maheshwara , ananta ,. bramha . ganapaty kumaar .shachi puranadar .

separately one each  for LAXMINARAYANA savitri and navagraha .. And One for inviting all the devatas .. [ if so many kalasha are not possible then atleast five shoudl be installed ]

fasting completely and worshipping all through day and night …reciting the mantras fit for you shakha … one must perform homa with arali , ajya ,doorva ,payasa , jeera and guda ..ahutis

with mantra given earlier … give poornahuti ….

invite 16 suvasini … perform sumangali POOJA

In the previous posts many of the qualities of Lord Srinivasa has been enumerated , with such qualities Srinivasa is amitatejasah ………infinitely radiant ……… Such Srinivasa if worshipped with the eight shlokas beginning with ” VENKATESHO VASUDEVAH …..” three times a day ,i.e morning , afternoon and evening at sunset ..everyday ……all the sins of a person will get destroyed and no new sins will touch him in future …..By the grace of LORD SRINIVASA …

Note : This is a very important , time tested , shloka ……… it has a deeper impact when understood properly ………. EVeryone in their lifetimes become anxious about a probable high profile meeting , which may carry a life turning consequences …. it may be  a meeting with high profile minister for a businessman resulting in royal favours ..

it may be a hearing in a court for a favourable judgement ….

it may be a interview call for a probable job prospect …

it may be a board meeting /general body meeting for a favorable placement / response and applause ……..

it may be  a crucial appearance for a selection /audition etc

it may be a appraisal with a superior / boss/ professor  for a promotion / project submission /credits /PhD etc

it may be crucial meeting with PM or party president for a plum post  in cabinet …

In all such events , one becomes anxious /nervous when the D day arrives and especially at the gates / door of the premises of performance ……..

This extreme anxiety, fear  is difficult to curb .. sometimes it becomes impossible to overcome this syndrome …… most of the time this gives way to mental blockade and many people fail or underperform tilting under pressure , even though they are quiet capable / efficient intelligent and   deserving , they fail ………

REASON extreme anxiety and fear ……… One needs divine intervention to overcome this ………. SO all these are classified under the term  ” RAJADWARE “

so when in above situation known as Rajadware when one recites this Venkatesha stotra all this fears will vanish and never appear again ………..

[ there will be crores of madhvas who will vouch for this statement of mine , this need not be doubted even for a second ... and one should make it an habit to rceite this stotra at every meeting ]

2. Many of us have the habit of getting into troubles … especially when one is troubled with Ketu .. one gets entangled into dangers every now and then ,,,, fear is imminent in such circumstances ,,,,,,,,, all such events are known as ghore … and fears will vanish after reciting the shloka … ghore also indicates times as floods earthquake tsunami …volcanic eruptions ,,,, tornado …… hurricane ……famine …landslide .. breakdown of aircraft ship vehicles in unhabitated areas  .etc …  reciting stotra brings in instant relief …

3. sangrame – when a war breaks out  ……. both soldiers and citizens anxiety rises to a uncertain levels … an outcome of war cannot be predicted … a losing side ends up paying a heavy price …… your home is no longer yours … it is forcibly taken away by the invaders … your stable life [ business / family / employment ] everything gets disturbed .. for no fault of yours …. someone loses a war and you pay the price … your belongings are looted at gun point with external force … abuse of all sorts awaits a losing side … a loss may be even for a day …. [ next day your forces may recapture ] but that day is horrible ….  it shows how our stability is no stability at all ,,, how we all living in our own box of comfort …….. and think this is permanent and plan for  a great future  and even think our destiny is in our hands and we can create our fortunes [ all these looks good only in stable economy and stable kingdom , once destabilisation occurs one loses everything without misefforts --- and then one thinks yes there is something called destiny ]  forcible eviction from box of comfort is something one never anticipates or even thinks about … all such people  suffer at the hands of destiny …

a WAR is horrible in consequence … no efforts can save us from disaster ….. one man cannot change the events in a war … lest a common man is utterly helpless ,,..  fear is but very natural … THEN WHO IS THE SAVIOUR in such times ,,,,,

SRINIVASA ….. recite this stotram many times during such times ,,,,relief will come in a personal manner ……..

WAR also gives jitters to soldiers ,,. they first time realise that life is just a bullet away … all the near and  dears come to remembrance  …. but unhappiness nothing seem to strike the mind ,,, along with it fear of loss of life becomes paramount and misery of losing near and dear ones ….brings in extreme agony … all this leads to fear of starting war ….

ARJUN too felt jitters at the beginning of war  ……….

SRNIVASA stotra recitation will allay all such fears gives extreme bravery and peace …. it will also bring relief from ill effects of WAR .sangrame …

BHOOT SARPA PISACHADI ——– bhoot are the attendants of LORD SHIVA ……They are absolutely single minded … they only create havoc in the life of the people … some people continuously suffer at the hands of some family members as physical abuse ,,,, mental torture … or ill treatment or differential treatment … this also extends to office atmosphere or some premises …. People always feel  why a particular relationship is going sour or why the atmosphere on office is not conducive and why each day ends up with fight , unhappiness or some dissatisfaction ..

they never get an answer …… the answer is presence of bhootgana in the vicinity …. these are extremely hardhearted cruel creatures ,… as long as they exist there will be miseries …….They create extreme fear …. fear to face the abuse / torture /misery ..

sarpa – sarpa  snake is an extremely vengeance full creature …  any harm done to snakes in any life .. snake keeps on tormenting the offender , it does not even forgives once even after repeated repentance ………. this sarpa dosha gives rise to frequent failures …. loss of words at crucial juncture ,,,, failed marraiges ,,,, difficulties in every undertaking ……… nothing materialises ………… once life becomes a drudgery ……….

SArpa not knowing kindness , troubles endlessly and remotely invisibly …… driving person to low self esteem and fear of failure becomes manifested ,,,,,

PISACHA – all those who are buried after death ,,, whose sanskaar after death has not been performed properly ……… those whose shraddhas are not performed regularly … those who die with unfulfilled dreams ……. those who have unusual deaths …. become pisacha ………. These pisachas are extremely troubled themselves from hunger thirst and lust ..all the bodily feeling and needs trouble them but due to lack of body …. these constantly lookout for bodies , grab them and satisfy their hunger thirst and lust … the body of the person suffers unknown miseries and breakdowns ,,,,,,,,,,, pisachas do not have any tenderness or understanding they use the bodies with utmost disrespect ………. this causes extreme fear in the body …

There are many such beings like rakshasas , apsmara etc ……. who behave very brash with possession …….. These fears are very hard to remove ,…….. slowly victims lose life …. self esteem and disinterest in life ..   SRNIVASA stotra removes these fears once for all and they never appear again in ones life…………….

Aputro labhate putran nirdhano dhanvaan bhavet | rogarto muchyate rogatbadhdo muchyet bandhnaat ||

Those who do not have children …….. [ aputro ] they will beget child [ labahte putran ] nirdhano – those suffering from poverty or in dire need of money ….. will get money and become rich [ dhnavaan bhavet ] by reciting these stotram with devotion and faith …

 Sarvadukhaiknashanam -  for all sorts of miseries , unhappiness , dissatisfactions , this stotra is foremost instrument of destruction ..

Sarvamangal karakam – All sorts of auspiciousness is brought in by this stotra …

In this world one desires … desires many things ……. things after things ……

even if desires are fulfilled … one is unhappy because of lack of qualities [ asihwarya ] even if they are there , there may be no dearth of good things ……. but still there may be miseries ………all these miseries arising out of sansaara will be destroyed ..

even if desires are fulfilled and no miseries exist ……… inauspiciousness may cause dissatisfaction … so this stotra brings more auspiciousness ,,,,,

All material benefits may be enjoyed .. fame may be enjoyed …….. desires may be manifested ……all auspicious may hit our perfect life .. but with death all ends …. BUT with this stotra even after death these remains intact as it gives relief from sansaara and places one at the pedestal of VAIKUNTHA ……….

 Mayavi parmanandam tyaktva Vaikunthamuttamam | swamipushkarniteere ramaya saha modate |

In sansaarvastha all the souls will have their svaroopananda covered by a sheath .. thus they are not able to realise true self happiness …When they reach Vaikuntha , this sheath is uncovered and all souls experience unrestricted free flowing their svaroopananda ……… Thus this VAIKUNTHA is known as Sarvottama loka …… VAIKUNTHAUTTAMAM …….[ in all other lokas this ananda is less and in Vaikuntha it is highest that is why it uttam loka because soul cannot find happiness of the kind in Vaikuntha in any of the other lokas .. in the least on earth .. ]

BUt Srinivasa NARAYANA has no constraint with respect to his ananda in any lokas ,,, In any lOka he may be He exhibits his ananda in a poorna  manner completely …..It neither reduces or increases with LOkas ….. Thus He can stay anywhere everywhere as per HIS wish [ MAYAVI ]… So For sometime LORD SRINIVASA decided to leave VAIKUNTHA [ VAikuntham TYAKTVA ] and stay for a while in SWAMIPUSHKARNI at VENKATACHALA  ….

Laxmidevi preconstruing the desire of the LORD [ a excellent wife construes her HUSBANDS' desires along with his contemplation ......... ] Now as LORD desired to stay in pushkarini on earth .. SHe too decided to LEAVE VAIKUNTHA [ in one form ] , to stay with her Husband .. so she took up a  dispute ……throwing wanton tantrum [ PREMA KALAHA ] over sage BHRIGU’s kick and left for earth ..

Now SRINIVAS is staying in PUSHKARINI teere …banks of SWAMIPUSHKARNI .. sporting [ modate ]along with [ Ramaya saha ] LAXMIDEVI [ one form  in his vakshsthala ... mole on chest srivatsavaksha ... and one form in invisible mode ] expressing his complete PARAMANANDA …as MAHALAXMI serves her LORD ……

Kalyanaadadbhutgatraya kaamitartha pradayine | Srimadvenkatnathaya srinivasaya te Namaha ||

Kalyan – auspicous  adbhut – full of surprising , spell bounding, ashcharyakar , gatraya – bodied …….. kamit – desired  …. arth – things

Srimad venkatnathaya - the most fortunate and  full of wealth and mysteriously auspicious .. sarvasoubhagyadayak ……. Venkatachal — mount venkatachal … is being presided by SRINIVAS thus he is SRIMADVENKATNATHA …

SRINIVASAYA— Lord who is known in all the universe  by name SRINVASA Oh such Lord

Oh LORD you have a APRAKRUT deha … Thus You are full of auspicous qualities and thus you are KALYANA …..such a body no other person has thus it is ascharya .. and ADBHUTGATRA …..  You grant all the boons to the devotees more than their expectation and satisfaction in this world and other world , in this birth and after death too … so you are KAMITARTHA PRADAYINE …  You are the presiding Deity [ worshipped in whole universe as SRINIVASA ] of VENKATACHALA and thus it has become very auspicious and fortunate for those who touch it or land on it ……. Thus  OH LORD  SRINIVASA  , namaskara to YOU ….

Nitya Shrimanta Hanumanta ! – Kartru Tartamya

Shri Varaha Swamy says ” 20000 namaskara phala will be obtained by the one who lights 1 Lakh diyas to Hari , each diya should be dipped into  ghee . Half of this phala will come to those who dip it in the oil . If not dipped then only 1/4 th phala will be obtained . If cotton is brought from outside than the one who donates cotton gets phala as per his dana to the extent of half phala .Sudras and women if they have made namaskaras then 1/10th tarpana should be given ,and 1/100 times homa should be done , 1/1000th number bramhins should be fed . If done in this manner they will get twice the phala .

When someone employs a bramhin to do the one lakh  homa with ghee and til , he is known as yejamana , he gets 50000 namaskara phala if appropriate dana is given to the bramhin else no phala comes to him . If dana is made then yejamana gets 3/4 phala and 1/4 gets destroyed .

If yejamana is too weak and ridden with ill health then  y employing the bramhin , he may get complete punya – 1/16 th which gets destroyed ,

Women do not have right to perform any vedic rituals . So japa homa etc should not be done by them . If stree shudra engage in japa homa etc themselves or employ other stree shudra etc ,they will not get any phala out of it .

pradakshina namaskaara lighting of diyas should be done by the women and shudras themselves and homa tarpana etc they should get it done by the bramhins. In this manner they will not get any dosha . [ all those who do not have sanskaara come under shudra category ! as by birth everyone is born shudra only sanskaara makes them a dwija ]

When a one lakh vyahruti homa is done , one should  give as dana a wheat grain sized gold for every 1000 japa . By this 3 parts of punya will go to the yejamana . so for 1 lakh japa 100 grains of gold should be given as ideal dana .

If yejamana is Dhanik [ rich man ] then he should give twice the said dana . If yejamana is MAHADHANIK then he must give thrice the dana to get the 3 parts punya .

If yejamana is daridra then he should give half the dana . If yejamana is atidaridra  then he must give dana as per his capacity .

VARAHA rupi HARI continues :

Women should do austerities like vrata niyama etc only after taking the permission of their husband.

  • A mother can do austerities for a son ,
  • a wife can do austerities for her husband ,
  • a son can do for parents ,
  • a upadhyaya can do for his students ,
  • a poshaka [ guardian , caretaker ] can do austerities for his ward .
    But all of these should do the austerities by taking the permission of a bramhin , then they do not get any dosha . But they must do the austerities and then surrender the punyasanchaya that comes with it to the yejamana .
  • When mother is doing austerities , son is the yejamana ,
  • when wife is doing austerities husband is the yejamana
  • when upadhyaya is doing , student or abhyarthi is the yejamana .
  • anybody employing a bramhin is yejamana because bramhin is  a universal teacher .
  • By donating the punya sanchaya with the uddesha of yejamana , yejamana gets half punya of the austerities .
  • and the kartru will get 1/3rd punya ie mother wife upadhyaya etc will get 1/3rd punya .
  • If yejamana himself gets this done by someone other than the above mentioned kartru , then he gets only 1/4th punya . But if the kartru is well versed in vidhi then he gets half the punya .
  • If kartru [ the doer of austerity ] after getting permission from yejamana and promise of the austerity , if he does not do the austerity sincerely or abruptly messes with austerity , then kartru does not get any phala of the austerity .
  • However the yejamana gets his due of 1/4th phala  as according as the bramhin’s capacity ,despite lapse , if he resorts to proper dana .
  • If on account of greed of dana and out of curiosity or fun , bramhin agrees to do the austerity and lapses , he gets sins[ of yejamana and additionally the sin of lapse ] on account of it .after accepting the dana .
  • And the entire punya of his austerity [ till the moment of lapse ] goes to yejamana .
  • Marana etc karma if one resorts to and accepts the shulka [ fees ] for such abhicharik karma , such a bramhin is dwijaadhama .
  • This dwijadham gets 1/4th of the sin of abhichaara .
  • The acharya who suggests such abhichara gets half the sin .
  • yejamana gets complete sin of the abhichaara .
  • In this manner sins go on multiplying with every member included .it never gets nil and one suffers forever .
  • Whether one participates with enthusiasm or unwillingly sins will be definitely accrued , unwilling will get half of the willing .
  • Other sinful activities also bear the same sins , so one who desires progress and happiness , must never indulge in abhichara
  • By selling ved mantras if a bramhin earns money , then to mitigate the sin out of it , he must donate 1/4th of his earnings to get relief from vikrayadosha .
  • If the said bramhin is daridra then he can donate 1/4th , if he is atidaridra then 1/8 should be donated from his earnings , if mahadaridra then 1/16th .
  • If bramhin is dhanika then he must donate half of his ill earnings
  • if the bramhin is mahadhanika then he must donate 2/3rds to achive dravya shuddhi .
  • This should be always resorted to whenever one gets dushta dana Note : [ in kaliyuga dana is made by accepting some work from the reciepient so all shulka [ fees, salary ] is dana only . in previous yuga dana was given as at home as gift .] so all earnings which are not as prescribed by veda ie not in accordance with varnashrama dharma is dushta dana only . one  partakes sins of yejamana ie employer ,contractor or master .
  • In all dushta dana the above mentioned krama should be maintained to achieve dravya shuddhi , [ if this is not resorted to then one gets sins of employers and as employers in MNC are mletchas or contractors are mostly mletchas yavanas , their vishnu dwesha sins and panchapataka is shared by the salaried . this has increased in the miseries of the workers in these establishments which is evident from rising separation , divorce and murders and other harrasment cases ]
  • dravya shuddhi will avoid such mishaps occuring on account of sins of dushta dana .
  • When for money if one does homa etc then also such a krama should be followed .
  • If austerities are done for the others and one gets wealth out of it then by donating 1/8th of such belongings one gets free from the dosha .
  • Daridra and atidaridra can resort to half of it to get the relief .

Listening to all these issues DHARANI DEVI asked

hey dev! Whom we should call as daridra in this world ? Who are Dhanikas ,who are madhyamas [ middle class] ? who is mahadaridra and who are mahadhanika ? How should be shulka [ fees ] given in punya karya ? kinldyenlighten me ? “

Shree VARAHA deva says ” A vipra who is engaged in sadachara [ austerities ] and who is a kutumbi [ having family ] and stithpragnya yet does not show any interest or is not keen in amassing wealth [ dhanarjanparanmukha ] is daridra .

one who earns easily the dhan and dhanya sufficient to feed his family for a year and does not have any loans is madhyama .

One who has capacity to increase the moola dhana apart from the dhana dhanya required to run the family year long is dhanik .

If one has dhanadhanya sufficient to run a family for two years and some moola dhana , he is knwon as dhanyatara .

More than dhanyatara is dhnayatam . If one earns sufficient grains only ,for a year for family  but does not have moola dhana he is known as Veera .so goes veeryatar and veeryatam .

The amount of money required to run a family for a year is known as mooladhana. so a dhanik should have mooladha plus grains worth a year . ie his family should run for  a year easily yet he has equivalent mooladhana as well .

Whatever is apart from mooldhana [ extra earnings of money ] is known as actual dhana .

One who has twice the amount of mooldhana apart from basic  mooldhana , he is known as dhanyatar. One who has more than the previous is known as dhanayatam .

Dhani and dhanyatar are known as madhyam [ middle class ] in a affluent nation .

dhanayatam is a rich man . similarly veera veeratar are madhyamas as well . Veeratam is dhanika.

One who has twice the capabilities of dhanika is mahadhanika .

  • similarly a veera who has capability to feed 100 families is mahadhanika .
  • one who can support 1000 families is NRUPA .
  • a little more is Samant
  • More capable [ ie of supporting more families] than samant is known RAJA.
  • One who controls and feeds and supports the families residing over 5 yojana [ 40 sq miles ] is known as  Samanta .
  • 50 yojana control is known as KING RAJA . a king must control atleast 400 sq miles of kingdom .
  • A MAHARAAJ  controls the area of  500 yojana  .
  • Ten times bigger kingdom is that of RAJADHIRAAJ [5000 yojanas= 40000 sq miles ie circumference of the modern earth ]
  • Ten times more is the one who is known as CHAKRAVARTI [ a earth is not enough for chakravarthi ]
  • half of madhyam is daridra . and half of daridra is mahadaridra .
  • so all those who do not have enough money to support their families for six months atleast are all daridras , and those who cannot support their families for three months in advance . are mahadaridras , and lesser than this are known as AKINNCHAN
  • note [ salaried class today does not even have capabilities to support the family for a month so we are all mahamahaakinchanas garva yattako ninage pamara manuja ]
  • Those desirous of punya should do godana , Dhanika onwards each should do greater godana by the factor two .
  • Mahadhanika should do godana of the cost of 32 masi gold . Nrupa 48 masi gold . Raja 64 , Maharaja should do 4 karsha gold and chakravarti 8 karsha .
  • Madhyama should give go of the cost of 160 grains .
  • daridra 80 grains
  • mahadaridra 40 grains
  • akinchana 20 grains .
  • Suvarna dana and shulka should also follow this krama .
  • Now we shall describe shulka
  • when bramhin does  1000 japa , yejamana if not capable he should give 12 ser of the wheat grains .
  • BUT ONE WHO TELLS MY[ VARAHA DEVA ] STORIES ,to him one SHOULD NOT  give any shulka , because by giving the punya to the listeners audience , LORD VARAHA gives him the shulka in the form of adrustha so , the shulka reaches him .
  • By telling the stories of the lord  when audience praise the vachak out of happiness , that praise is itself the fees from the audience , this gives vruddhi to the speaker /writer in all directions because it is me out of happiness , pleased with him praise him through the audience . This is itself a good omen and fees that reaches him as destiny .
  • If the audience and the lecturer both are nishkaami then both get mahatpunya .
  • one who gives grains to such bramhins engaged in the katha shravan adhyayan , such people are known as poshaka , Such poshaka will get punya as long as the grains donated by him stays in the house of bramhin and as a bonus he gets the half of the punya thereupon on every lecture made by the bramhin .
  • Vedadhyayan and bramhamimamsa pathi bramhin if his family is supported by a anyone , until the support exists , all the punya done by the bramhin , half of it will belong to the donor .
  • If someone gives  a bramhin even before asking the favour , he gets one fourth of the punya of the bramhin , but if one gives after asking , then he gets 1/6th only .
  • But after asking , even if capable if yejamana does not give the bramhin , then bramhin takes away all the punya of the yejamana .
  • If someone returns with empty handed with broken heart from the house of yejamaan , he gives his all sins to yejamana and takes away all his punya ,
  • BY Insult a bramhin gets tapovriddhi . By sanmaan a bramhin loses his punya and tapah bala . So if someone badmouths insults a bramhin , its a good day for the bramhin as the abuser takes away all the sins of bramhin . on the contrary when someone praises the bramhin , he walks away with all the punya of the bramhin .
  • So insults and daridra are bhooshana to a bramhin it increases his strength .
  • so to obtain good punya and increase in favours one must always look after bramhins and satisfy them . bramhins who do auserities for the yejamana ,
  • After seeing  Bramhin one must get up and with words deed and mind one must pay respects and give him seat with respect , this is sanatan dharma [ so says VARAHA GOD ]
  • One who abides by such rules , such yejamaana will always flourish with grains and money , water , lands and sweet speech and truth remains always in his house ,
  • By whatever is got through labour and hardwork if given to yachaka , why should it not bring prosperity ? definitely it will bring .
  • EARNINGS good or bad , if a part is given to Bramhins it cleanses one of the sins and dhana shuddhi is obtained .
  • If one gets  work done by the bramhins and then gives him some money then it is not known as dana but it is known as shulka .,
  • animals  birds ,snakes and reptiles if they feed their own belly it is not  a surprise . But very difficult to obtain this human life if in this human life if a BRAMHIN is not satisfied then it is  a surprise .
  • I have [ Varaha deva says ] two types of idol manifested , one is moving and other immovable . I reside in this idols , shaligrama is achala pratima and BRAMHIN is a achala pratima . VEDAS declare BRAMHINS as mouth of the LORD .
  • In this world people eat through mouth and get satisfied , So feeding bramhins is akin to satisfying HARI.
  • so feeding on paurnima , amavasya and specially DWADASHI fetches more punya .

This way world is divided into various tartamya of richness and daana gets static phala ,

Rich is one who has capability to get desired . In this world we do not see any rich getting his desired . EVEN if temporarily one gets desired the very next moment desired gets destroyed , So at all time we are not rich , Our richness wealth is incomplete and temporary ,

But everlasting fulfillment of desire and achieving accomplishing whatever desired is very natural to HANUAMAN when everyone was down fighting ,struggling with life desirous of medicine , no amount of wealth could come to the rescue ,neither for rakshasas nor the vanaras . though LANKA was full of grains and gold , the situation demanded a wealth of different kind , . and even if knowledge of this wealth existed , it was not accessible . BUT  HANUMAN could access sanjeevani and give life to many , a life to enjoy wealth .  He is the one who brought the wealth of the golden ring[ wealth of Hari samarpana gyana ] to seeta [the jeeva ] . a welathy only  can give wealth , and such a wealth like ring of SHRIRAMA can be given only by NITYA SHRIMANTA HANUMANTA !

HANUMAN the ever wealthy MAHAMHADHANIKA CHATURDASHA LOKA SARVABHOAUMA !

SAVITRI SATYAVAAN – PATIVRATA MAHATMYA !!!

Suta says :

HEY RISIS , Infinitely brave KING Manu asked LORD MATSYA about the PATIVRATA women and their stories .

  1. WHo is great among the pativrata women ?
  2. Who has defeated the Death ?
  3. WHose name should be always chanted by humans ?
  4. Kindly narrate to me the story that destroys the sins quickly !

BHAGAVAN MATSYA said :

Hey dutiful KIng ! EVEN DHARMARAJ [ deity of death ] can not act against the pativrata women because even these women are held in high esteem and respect by him . I shall narrate a story in this aspect as to how a women of high devotion towards husband managed to rescue him from the shackles of death himself .

In the previous era , in the country of MADRA [ present day SIALKOT ] there was a KING in the lineage of SHAKAL vansh by name ASHVAPATI . He did not have a son . So to get a son, King consulted the bramhins . By their advice he started the worship of SAVITRI devi , after ten months , once when KING finished homa of hundred ahutis  with white mustards and gave scores of bramhins the dakshina and dana . DEVI SAVITRI appeared in his dreams on a chaturthi day and said , ” Oh King you are my devotee and am pleased with your continuous devotion ,so I would bless you with a GIRL child and she would be most beautiful . With a lightning the goddess disappeared

AT AN appropriate time MALATI gave birth to a very beautiful girl who resembled goddess Savitri and hence all the bramhins present gave her the name “SAVITRI” .

Savitri grew into a marriageable girl and KING promised her hand to KING DHYUMATSEN ‘s son SATYAVAAN . Sage NARAD then appeared and said that prince Satyavaan has only one year of his longevity left .

King was highly disturbed at the words of SAGE NARAD but to keep his words He said to himself that GIRL ‘s KANYADAAN is done only once  so there cannot be reversal of the decision .So SAVITRI married SATYAVAAN and was serving the in laws and husband with utmost devotion even though the words of sage were disturbing her day and night with utmost pain and misery .Her plight was pitiable yet she served her elders and Husband with utmost devotion in the jungle in a hut because Suddenly KING DHYUMATSEN and his wife lost their eyesight and also their Kingdom .

Her devotion and selfless serving was giving more misery to the King DHYUMATSEN who felt that he had spoilt the life of beautiful princesses and also they could not see her exceptional qualities owing to their blindness .

WHen astrologers  came and told her that , “fourth day from now her husband would DIE “ SAVITRI taking the permission of in-laws manifested herself into ” TRIRATRA VRAT ANUSHTHAAN ” a three day marathon vrat austerities .

On the fourth day when SATYAVAAN asked her to accompany her to the jungle to collect flowers and fruits and some wood for fire . SHE accepted as refusing would constitute ‘ YACHANABHANGA ” [ note : however austere the rules of vrata may be , but for a married woman , advice/ order /desires /needs /command of  husband is paramount , not heeding to these constitutes vratabhanga , giving into desire of husband , obeying his commands , looking after his needs even if they are against the austere measures of vrata niyama , is the only dharma , it does not constitute vratabhanga but in the name of vrata niyama , if husband is neglected his desires not fulfilled , that actually constitutes vrata bhanga ]

She followed Satyavaan although fearing the words of sage NARADA with extremely unhappy mind and very thought of losing husband that day was bringing tears in her eyes , yet she collected her calm and followed the husband deep into the jungle .In  order to hide her state of mind from the husband and to keep him happy and engaged, she asked him to educate about the flora and fauna of the forest . Though she knew most about the forests and its inhabitants and trees and flowers , she asked  her to keep him, his mind  and herself  engaged . SATYAVAAN too kept on showing various animals trees and flowers to the beautiful large eyed SAVITRI and assured her of his love towards her just to relieve her of the tiredness of walking into deep jungles .

SATYAVAAN  said :

” Oh large eyed SAVITRI , look at the green soft grass of this jungle as if spring has dawned , and MANMATH along with rati have come down to enhance the atmosphere of lOVE with these mango trees lush green full of ripe mangoes giving delight to eyes and nose with ripe smell contributing to increasing  romance in the air ..

These ashoka trees full of flowers seems to be teasing me and perhaps laughing at me amidst the spring . Just look at the captivating array of  kinshuk trees with flowers like flames of burning charcoal . These sweet smelling flowers and its scent carried by the breeze is kindhearted in refreshing us by curing the tiredness and freshening US .

Look at the west how appealing is the beauty of bushes with golden flowers of kaNer tree . The weeds and creepers of TINEES have blocked the way . Flowers over these are looking great all through the way . How enchanting is this earth with these flowers  . The bees humming all through over these is indicating that Deity MANMATH is surely drawing his bow [ to strike the cupid's arrow] .

These small dense groups of tilak trees with kokila birds singing over it and harmonizing the atmosphere with their sweet notes which have been sweetened by the tasting the various tasty fruits of the forest . this scenery is as beautiful and attractive as YOu yourself are oh SAVITRI .

The mangoes ripe on the tree have imparted their yellow colour to the kokila and this kokila is singing the notes as if a cultured man is giving his introduction to impress a attractive damsel .

Look at the bees among the backdrop of beautiful arrays of colourful flowers seems like following their beloveds madly in love .

The male kokila even though there are many fruits on the trees still they are eating from the fruits in the mouth of the beloved . The crow is dragging its children in its feathers and still giving its food in the beak to its pregnant lady .

The lovestuck KAPINJAL [ teetar ] is not eating anything just sitting on the ground .Oh large eyed SAVITRI , this chatak [ goraiya bird] is playing with the feathers of its counterpart . The parrot sitting on the branch of a tree is pulling the fruit laden branch with its feather to tease and help its beloved.

The meat eating LION is asleep with satisfaction and the lioness is sleeping amidst its legs . The tiger couples are so lovestruck that their eyes are illuminating the caves differently nearby . The hippopotamus is licking the tongue of its beloved again and again . The monkey is getting its beloved free of lice and giving a good massage onto the head . The big cat is lying on the ground showing her stomach and the other one is pinching and striking its teeth onto it but the cat is not feeling hurt or pain . Look at the pair of rabbit , they have moved into each other in a such a way that except ears nothing can be seen of them .

The elephants in the pond full of lotus is hitting each other with lotus stalks and sporting in the water . The wild boar is uprooting the bushes on its way which its children and family are eating along . The she buffalo with all the dirt and mud onto it is chasing the male with passion . Oh beautiful one ! look at this deer staring at both of us with atrractive eyes in wonder . ANd the other deer is pushing it back lovingly with its horns all at the same time scratching her ears with the legs .

Look at the wild cow moving lazily towards the oX , and this ox is struggling to get the crow off his back . just as a neelgay makes an attempt to shoo the crow away . Look at the sheep trying to place its legs onto its male and trying to eat the fruits from the tree .

The cranes in the pond are enchanting and looks like a moon in the shining sunlight . The chakrawaak is circling around the female amongst the lotus and she is blooming like lotus in sun .

SATYAAVAAN said ” I have collected the fruits and you have also collected the flowers , let me make some arrangements for wood !! Oh bhamini !!! you rest here near the pond for a minute under the shade and I shall get some wood .”

Savitri said . ” KANT !!!! as you say , i shall abide , but do not go away from my sight as I fear staying alone in this forest !!!!!”

So SATYAVAAN stayed nearby collecting the wood but little distance separating them still made savitri as having lost HIM !!!!!

While cutting the wood , SATYAVAAN experienced a severe headache and ran towards his wife and keeping his head onto her LAP , he said ” I am perhaps tired and am in pain , I feel like entering darkness and i am unable to think anything and I just want to sleep in your LAP . !!!!”  Thus he slept in her LAP .

At that time SAVITRI SAW , DHARMARAJ coming himself with bluish[ lotus ] hue on the body wearing a yellow silk pitambar , He was appearing as cloud  amidst the lightning and golden Crown on his head was akin to a SUN , bright and shining , he even had two earrings . The garland was beautiful dangling down his chest . There were shoulder cuffs . He was accompanied by MRUTYU and MAHAKAAL .

YAma as he arrived , with his pasha took away the PRANAby drawing a man  from the body of SATYAVAAN , who was of the size of THUMB . ANd THUS YAMA sped away towards the southern direction .

SAVITRI realizing that her husband has died without wasting a moment in laziness and distress , ran towards YAMARAAJ and with folded hands near the heart told DHARMARAAJ :

” By the devotion towards the mother  one gets the enjoyments on the earth , By devotion towards the FATHER one gets enjoyments in the loka of swarga etc medium planes . By the devotion and concentration towards the Teacher GURU , one gets the BRAHMALOKA . One who has served these three he has served everyone and and has adhered to all the dharma . One who has not served any one of these three all his karma is fruitless and all his merits go waste . Till these three are alive in this world , there is no necessity of  any other dharma . Spending time in the welfare of these three itself is dharma and one should spend his time in it . If by their command one has to undergo slavery even that should be acceptable and should be offered to them by speech mind and action . ALL the karma of a man starts and ends with mother father and guru !!!

Yama says ”  LEAVE the wish that is driving you to follow me , and kindly return back !!!YES there is no karma and dharma bigger than serving mother father and guru !!! But  you are hurting yourself by taking this strenuous path and also creating an obstacle to my work !! You are fully tired and hence I am saying so . Oh dharmik lady !!! your husband was indeed devoted to guru and you are also devoted to your husband , at this point of time you are in trouble , kindly return back !!! “

SAVITRI said ” For a woman , husband is  a DEVATA , husband is the one who protects her and thus all the women should follow their husbands wherever they go ! Father brother and SON give limited  [ whatever they can give  ] but husband gives infinitly everything ! Then HOW will one not worship such a husband . Oh Best among the deities !! wherever you are going or taking my husband , I should also be going there !!

DEV! If at anypoint I am unable to follow you in the journey of my husband , I shall leave my mortal body and embrace death !!! Its unfortunate to live like  a widow even for a second !!!!!

YAMA said ” Oh most FORTUNATE  pious lady !!!! I am very pleased with you so except the life of your husband ask a boon I shall grant it . !!!”

SAVITRI said ” DHARMAGNYA !!! One who is bereft of KINGDOM and eyes as such My father in law , kindly grant him KINGDOM and EYESIGHT !!! “

YAMA said ” Oh protected one ! you have travelled a long way , kindly return , Your these wishes will be fulfilled !! Your walking behind me will cause obstacle to my work and also cause tiredness to your self kindly heed my words !!!!!

SAVITRI said ” Oh the great amongst devatas ! What’s tiredness / hardship in the process of begetting the company of  satpurush [ a satvik holy men ] . I do not feel unhappy or any misery in the company the great men like yourself . In this world only holy drive the goals of both sadhu [ pious ] and asadhu [ unholy sinful ] people . Sinners neither are helpful to pious , unpious and not even to themselves . Poison , fire and weapons do not cause much destruction as a evil man who without reason takes up enmity with the world .Just as good men sacrifice their lives to the benefit of others so also evil men give up their lives in quest of causing harm to others .

To attain the upper worlds [ heavens ] the holy men do not care for self and own lives , so also to stop the holy men from recahing heavens evil makes everyattempt without caring for their lives . Thus BRAMHA has chosen and appointed a KING to control such evil people in this creation . KINg should keep testing people and his subject , those who are holy he should protect and honour them and those who are evil he should punish them . One who does this is great among the kings !! Honoring holy and punishing evil makes him the KING !!!!! Hevaens will open gates for such KINGS !!! THere is no other dharma for the KINGs except ruling the subject in this manner !! Those who cannot be chastised by such KINGS , such evils are taken to task by YOU oh Dharmaraaj ! Thus you are the most powerful and important among the kings and DEVATAS . This world is lead by the holy men , and YOU are the leader amongst such holy men and hence I have no hardship in following you !!!!!!”

YAMA said ” I am very pleased by your words full of wisdom and DHARMA !!! Thus You can ask any boon except the life of SATYAVAAN!!! Do ASK without delay !!!!”

SAVITRI said ” Oh the author of destiny VIBHO ! I want to be the sister of a hunded brothers , my father is without a son and so let him be bestowed with the happiness of son !!!!”

Yama said ” Oh woman of no blemish !!! just return the way you have arrived , and get the preparation done for the creamation of your dead husband’s body . Satyvaan has now entered another sphere[ loka] , now you cannot walk behind him . But as you are a PATIVRATA , you can walk another few minutes ! Oh protected one , Your HUSBAND has served gurus well and has amassed a lot of punya and thus I am taking him personally !! Oh beautiful one !!! learned always should spend time in serving elders like mother father and guru . Satyavaan has done all the three very well in the forest and has pleased them all . Hence he has gained swarga , On account you being his wife you have also reserved a place in swarga . Oh auspicious one ! men attain swarga with tapasya , bramhacharya and serving agni and guru !  SPECIALLY ONE MUST TAKE CARE IN NEVER  INSULTING BRAMHINS TEACHERS FATHER MOTHER AND ELDER BROTHER !!! because acharya [bramhin ] is image of BRAMHA . father of PRAJAPATI , mother of PRITHVI , ELDER  brother is an image of the SELF !!!!!!! The amount of hardship that parents undergo in giving birth to a child cannot be repaid in crores of lives . So humans should strive hard to satisfy the desires of parents and guru , because when these three are pleased all the tapasya is said to have been accomplished !!!!

SERVICE to these three guru [ father mother and acharya ] is highest tapasya and no other dharma should be undertaken without their exquisite permission !!!!!

These three [ mother father and acharya ] are the three worlds [ lokas . swarga antariksha and bhumi ] , these are the three vedas , these are the three agnis .

Father is grahyapatya agni , mother is dakshinagni , acharya is avahaniya agni !!!!

These three agnis are great and grahasthas should never get inattentive in the matters of these three agnis . they should be always alert and then they become eligible to win over the SWARGA with their deity like bodies .Oh Protected one ! your work has been accomplished , you must return ! whatever you have asked for will be fullfilled , this way by following you are obstructing my work and also you are too tired , that is the reason why I say so to return !!!!”

  • Savitri said ” Oh great among the deities ! what can there be hardships and miseries in accomplishing dharma . The Dharma is in the very worship of your feet !!! Oh DEV ! men of wisdom should be engaged in the activity of accumulating the dharma , because gain of dharma is infinitely greater than all gains !!!!The birth is the result of DHARM ARTHA KAAM all in a single go !!!!
  • Because one without dharma his artha and kaama is akin to a son of a barren women !!!! Dharma alone gives rise to artha and kaam and also with the help of dharma alone one gets the heavens !!!!!
  • The one who goes anywhere with his will [ jeeva ] is always accompanied by his DHARMA alone , ALL other material things associated with body [ wife relations sons wealth honor etc ] everything ends with the end of the body , JEEVA  takes birth alone and dies alone ,but dharma alone accompanies the jeeva after his death not his wife , nor brothers nor relatives or friends none gives you company !!!!!
  • Success in undertaking , good fortune , beauty everything is possible through dharma only .
  • Oh the ruler of men’s lives [ purushantak ] !!!! VISHNU Bramha Shiva Indra ,chandra yama ,surya ,agni , varuna vayu vasu ,ashvini kuber etc devatas who fulfill the wishes and their worlds are all obtained by Dharma alone ,
  • HUMANS live in pleasure giving beautiful islands and varshas [ harivarsha plaksh dweep etc ] only by DHARMA
  • DEvatas’ gardens like NANADAN VANA etc is obtained by Dharma/punya  alone
  • SIMILARLY amazing aircrafts swarga apsaras are all obtained by punya through dharma alone !!!!
  • The lusturous valorous bodies of men are result of punya alone.
  • The kingship , kingdoms , honor from kings ,obtaining long cherished desires and well cultured upbringing are all the result of accumulated punya alone ,
  • Oh the presiding Deity !!! One with punya alone can have a chamar of gold and vaidurya and will be bright as SUN .
  • Like a full moon the chatra will look decorated with cloth spun in precious stones over a ma of PUNYA
  • The beat of success by the magadhbandi’s with their shankh and other auspicious instruments ready with abhisheka for a man on the ROYAL THRONE [ SIMHASAN ] are the fruits of  puya alone ,
  • Good food , water , songs , servants , garlands , sandal paste , precious stones , and precious clothes all these are results of PUNYA .
  • Lovely and highly attractive damsels  full of compassion and beauty and life in  palacial house are all the outcome of PUNYA through auspicious deeds .
  • The horses with golden bells on the head and chariots attached to such horses are results of PUNYA
  • ELEPHANTs like a walking mountains , with golden seats [ ambari ] with cushioning steps is the property of people with PUNYA .
  • Such wishes can be fulfilled in swarga , and these swarga are obtained only through PUNYA , and bhakti in such swargas can only be had through PUNYA again .
  • SUch PUNYA can be obtained by -
  1. yagnya , tapa , dana, indriyanigraha , kshama
  2. ,bramhacharya , satya , teerth yatra ,
  3. swadhyaya , seva , satpurusha sangati , devatarchana ,
  4. gurujan sushrusha , bramhana pooja ,
  5. controlling senses , and jealosyless  bramhcharya !!!!!
  • Wise learned should always strive to amass these because death never waits for anyone . DEATH does not reason whether one has accomplished his work or not , whether anything is pending or not , it just strikes mercilessly !!!!
  • DEv! thus one should strive to accumulate punya from the childhood because life is never permanent . who can say who will die today ?
  • oh great among the deities ! As we stand death stares at us yet we live as if we do not have death! this is most surprising !!!!! a youth feels he is away from death more than an old and child feels he is away from death than youth !!!!! But whom will the old compare with sitting in the lap of death !!!!!!
  • AND what will be the fate of those who try to find ways to escape death !!!!!!
  • HUMANS in this world not only have fear of death but they also do not have any place to get away from it or save themselves from DEATH !!!!!
  • THUS ONLY PUNYAVAAN holy  lives on this earth fearlessly in this world !!!!”

YAMA said ” oh wide eyed beauty !!!! I am very much pleased with your words of wisdom about dharma !!! Except the life of your husband ask for a boon !!!”

SAVITRI said ” I ask for  a boon of hundred sons from my womb [ putram aurasam ] . because without son there will not be good afterlife !!!! “

YAMA GRANTS her the boon !!!!!

SAVITRI recites a very beautiful stotra for YAMA Thus .

Oh deity KNOWER of all the dharm and adharma and himself the abider of SUCH DHARMA !!! You are the Lord of this wold and lord of all the men

  1. , you make people abide by dharma hence sarvadharmapravartak
  2. You are the destiny of the person and hence you are vidhanagnya
  3. You are ruler of the world hence jagatonatha:
  4. You regulate and carry out niyaman of these men thus you are Known as MANU
  5. because you regulate all according to their karma  you are known as DEV YAMA
  6. You rule and regulate as per DHARMA and hence you are DHARMARAAJ
  7. men come before you with both their good and bad karma hence are MRUTYU
  8. You keep record of all the seconds kshan kalaa etc thus you are known as KAAL
  9. You are MAHADHYUTE  as you emanate like a light among all the deities .
  10. You end everything you are known as ANTAK
  11. You are the son of VIVASWAAN the SUN so you are known as VAIVASWAT
  12. Once the longevity is over you catch people by surprise thus you are SARVAPARANAHAR
  • The dharma as ordained by RUk YAJUS and SAAm is steady in this world only by your grace .
  • By your grace alone people in this world are engrossed in dharma
  • By your grace people  will not beget children of  intermixed castes
  • By your grace holy men achieve their goals
  • by your grace jagannath , this world is intact in its maryada [ boundaries of behaviour and physical boundary limits  ]ie everybody is in their limits !!!!
  • Oh great among the three worlds and ten directions . I am in distress and in your sharan. [subjudicated abode ] Please help me and this prnces’ father and mother are also unhappy !!!!! “

YAMA SAYS ” I am pleased with your devotion and stotra and thus I release your HUSBAND  SATYAVAAN from the shackles of death !!!!!!  Oh frail one ! return to your place with all the wishes fulfilled !!!! This SATYAVAAN will live with you for FIVE HUNDRED years and happily enjoying the kingdom and then will be happy in swarga as well along with other devatas . He will give you hundred sons all having devata like qualities and able kshatriyas , will live complete life and be famous . Your Parents will also beget hundred sons in the country of MALAVA and hence they will be famous as MALAVS and will live full lives alongwith their children and grandchildren   , they will all possess qualities like devatas and will be worthy kshatriyas .

Oh The virtuous women Whover recites this stotra early in the morning will be blessed with long life !!!!!! “

SAYING these golden words , YAMA leaving Satyavaan disappeared alongwith KAAL and MRUTYU !!!!!

Later SAVITRI came back through same way towards the jungle and took her husband head in her LAP !!! . SATYAVAAN , slowly got up and asked ” where did that man go who was dragging me along ! Oh beautiful one , I did not know who he was , oh one with complete beauty  !!! complete day has passed by in this jungle , you must be hungry due to fast and tiredness !!!! Because of my laziness my parents have gone hungry and have undergone some discomfort !!! Oh one with beautiful eyebrows !!! I would like to see them instantly let us go !!!”

SAVITRI said ” Oh dear LORD !!! sun has set , if you like we shall go back to the ashram , as parents are blind they would be worried . LEt me tell you about the man after we reach the ashram !!!”

Thus they went to the ashram . DHYUMATSEN and his wife had regained the eyesight but not finding their daughterinlaw , were worried ! ALl the tapasvis nearby had gathered and they were consoling them . Just then  FRAIL SAVITRI and SATYVAAN came by , SEEING them DHYUMATSEN was very happy ., SATYAVAAN paid his respects to the gathered TAPASVIS . SAVITRI retold all that happened , TOGETHER all of them resided there in the ashram and in the night completed the vrata .

AS the dawn broke , ALL the subjects of the KING DHYUMATSEN arrived with loud auspicious sounds and requested KING to rule his kINGDOM again as , the old KING who had usurped the kingdom from DHYMATSEN OWING to his loss of eyesight had been killed by the ministers and PEOPLE wanted the old KING to come back !!!! .

By the grace of LORD YAMA DHYUMATSEN regained his Kingdom . SAVITRI got hundred brothers , In the time to come she also bore hundred children .

Thus MAHASADHVI PATIVRATA SAVITRI upheld the honor of both her lineage and husbands lineage [ PITRU PAKSHA < PATI PAKSHA ] and FREED  back her husband from the shackles of MRUTYU  !!!!!!

MEN should always respect the women of high virtue !!! By the grace of such virtuous women these worlds stand !!! Their words in this world never go waste or false  !!!! Those wishing to get their desires fulfilled always worship women !!!! Those who listen to this story wholeheartedly with devotion , get success in all their undertakings and experience happiness and never experience miseries in life !!!!!!!

Maranam – Elimination through incantation !

What a Kshatriya achieves through the power of his arms and weapons , a bramhin should achieve through the power of his learning and mantrashakti.

When enemy physically tries to attack , and when there is no other option to save the self , then unwittingly bramhin resorts to maran.

Saturn in house of mars [weak ] aspected by mars and gulika [mars being in the navamsa of cancer or jupiter ] the person is killed by abhichara .

Bring the deepagni or dhoopagni of the enemy and begin the Abhichara . Maran karma should not usually accompany the sacrifice of kravya . With the neem oil dipped feather of crow or owl ,homa should be performed by chanting continuously ” enam daray, enam shoshay , enam maray ” then going to the rear of the kunda ,invoke a kritya and chant ” yo me ch kantakam duraadduram va chantikeapi ch pibataddyamsruk ” within 9 days enemy dies a miserable death .

A yantra with ” swaha maray hum amuk hrim phat ” if worn in neck on Tuesday kills enemies if the following mantras ” chandalini kamakhya vasini vandurge klim klim thah swaha ” has been made siddhi .

if not used on appropriate enemies it kills the one who invokes.

Vishvamitra created a Rakshas [kritya ] with his mantra shakti and sent it to kill only surviving Son of Vashishtha Shaakti Rishi [ father of Parashar muni] . Rakshas killed Shakti muni in absence of Vashishtha , when Shakti was in meditation .

When Parashar knew about this through his friends , he started a vedic homa to remove entire Rakshas clan in the universe. Slowly all the rakshasas fell in the homa kunda one by one and the Homa went on for a year long . when all the Rakshasas were slowly getting extinguished , Rishi Pulastya and pulaha were deeply disturbed by the genocide of their clan . Pulastya went to rishi vashishtha to pacify his grandson .

Sage Vashishtha appeared before Parashar and addressed him thus ” Oh grandson , regain your calm and put aside the hatred and anger in you . Hatred and anger does not suit a Bramhin . All the human beings on this earth reap their fruits by the virtue of their previous karma . No one kills the other by his own self will , its the purvajanma karma that kills the person , My son Shakti also died because of his purvajanma karma and not by the Rakshas . Rakshas was just an instrument . So setaside your anger on Rakshas jati and stop this yagnya . May good senses prevail on you and let Shanti [ peace be setin into your heart] .”

Taking the words of the Grandfather as an order , Parashar stops this yagnya giving relief to the Rishi Pulastya , Pulastya then says ” Oh Paraashar , having stopped this yagnya at out behest and through the words of Vashishtha , we are all relived and we give you a boon that may all the shastras be realized by you easily and may you be the Puran pravakta for the ages to come , let every purana be your Lore ., let there be a siddhi to you for all the words of vedas and vedanmga and let Lord be born to you as your Son and be the light for the world through his wisdom . Let this all be known as the words of Parashar , as a result of which let the shastras be always alight in your heart as Lord dwell in heart as Gnyana , May he be visible to you in your heart”

Happy with the boons , Parashar stopped the yagnya leaving the remaining Rakshas to save their lineage . All these were recollected by Parashar when Maitreya put the question to Parashar about the beginning of Universe .

Optimism – Bhagavat Dweetiya Skanda

  • One who has [shadbal poorna] venus in the fourth house is ever optimistic and happy all through his life.

Optimistic attitude is must in this world. One must be optimistic about one’s fate . One must be optimistic about Lord’s Grace onto us. One must be optimistic about achieving the desired through the efforts and grace of Lord and Guru even in the most challenging situation.

Taking even the most negative incident in one’s life as a an opportunity given by God to betterment is the highest form of Optimism . And yet again blessing those [ who were responsible for such Hardships] for having provided this opportunity and being indebted to Them is again an extreme Vairagya.[coupled with Optimism] .

Maharaja Parikshit exhibited these qualities when cursed by the Rishikumar Sringi to die within seven days. Maharaja did not go into a gloom or despondency at the fast approaching certain Death .But Instead called for a great gathering of the wise to advice him to achieve what a best can be achieved in seven days.

Shuka Muni Arrives there and King Asks Him whether is there anything that can be achieved great in Seven DAYS.. As He has a certain Death awaiting Him in seven days .

There is one Solution for all the problems of the world that a man may face , that is the Knowing the Glories of Lord Srikrishna the Supreme .

[ Note : When someone suggest say Chant These names , listen to Bhagavat etc , an immediate question arises of what use will it be? Then it has to be explained look such and such person had done so and he achieved this result . immediately second question arises , will I reap similar results ? Yes be optimistic and give it a try ! this is what ,a background ,Shuka muni is creating for the Phalashruti of Bhagavat from above verses]

Bhagavat is the Full of Glories of Lord Krishna . But Parikshit wants to Know whether seven days are enough ?

Shuka says there was once a King called Khatvanga , when this rajarishi enquired devatas as to how much longevity was leftover , Devatas said only a muhurtha .

[Note : one muhurtha is two ghati . One ghati is 24 minutes and hence Muhurtha is 48 minutes.]

Khatvanga raja after ascertaining his life would end after 48 minutes , immediately withdrew his senses from all the material enjoyments of life. and attaining unattached mental state to all his belongings and being completely engrossed in the Glories of Lord achieved Moksha.

Shukamuni says ‘ Oh King Parikshit if Moksha has been achieved in one muhurtha 48minutes by king Khatvanga , then by that measure you have complete seven days . each day has 30 muhurtha and you have 210 muhurthas at your disposal.

In this world No one can guarantee whether he will get up alive next day morning to see the rising SUN and his family . [ that means death can strike any moment , it is always uncertain] But Fortunate are You ‘ Oh Parikshit that RISHI Sringi has cursed you to DIE after seven days. He has ensured that you would LIVE Definitely for next seven days . King Parikshit is indebted to RISHI kumar for having cursed him and the recourse[ optimistic ] that King took over next seven days of Listening to SRIMADBHAGAVATA MAHAPURANA, definitely gave him Moksha .

Narahari teertha -3rd Pontiff in the Shree Madhacharya -Raghavendra Mutt (1324-1333-Hampi-Thungabhadra)

PooRvashram name SHyam shaastri.

When Jupiter is in Lagna and sun in the tenth house at the time of travel one will acquire a Kingdom in his travel.

Shyam Shastri was the minister of Kalinga State. His father was Narasimha Bhatta. who was also an officer in that state. They were powerful in many respects. Many temples were erected during their time.The inscriptions at Srikurmam says He had donated a Village to bramhins for the welfare of King Bhanudev II . He was expert swordsman and able statesman.He was a scholar. Lead a life like rajaRshi ,working as an minister in the court of King Gajapathi of Orissa(Kalinga) State.

Sriman Madhwacharya camped at Orissa after returning from Badarikashram. A Vidwat sabha was arranged. The Father and the son took part in the debate. Both father and son duo were traditionally ADVAITI bramhins ,thus they were debating against the Dvaita philosophy of Sriman Madhvacharya .They could not succeed. They accepted the defeat..

Impressed by the discourses of SriMadhvacharya Shyama Shastri accepted the Vaishnava-dvaitha Math and became his disciple. He was ordained the Name NARHARI Teertha

Stayed for some time with his guru. Sriman Madhwacharya asked him to go to Kalinga State and spread the Dvaitha Philosophy.

At that time the king died leaving a infant heir to the throne. A caretaker was neccessary till the infant prince grew Youngand capable. The subjects were in dilemma. They decided and made arrangements for the Royal elephant to go round the State with a garland at its trunk and to put to the neck of a person to whom it chooses as the best.- That person would rule the kingdom. The Royal elephant saw a Sanyasi coming out of Lord Jagannatha temple, after performing pooja. It garlanded the Sanyasi and prostrated before him. The subjects felt that Lord Jagannatha had come in the form of Swamiji and entrusted the State to the control of the Swamiji. He was none other than Sri Narahari TheeRtha. The subjects were more than happy to see erstwhile minister now back to look after them.

Sri Narahari theertha also thought that it was the will of God to protect the kingdom till the prospective ruler would grow and was able to take charge of the kingdom. Thus he looked after the Kingdom for 12 years.

Narasimhadeva I was successful in his campaigns against the Muslims and humbled the pride of his enemy. Like his father he was a devotee of Lord Purushottama. He is remembered in history as the builder of the world famous temple at Konarka.

In 1264 A.D. Narasimhadeva I was succeeded by his son Bhanudeva I born of queen Sitadevi. During his time Narahari Tirtha the disciple of Ananda Tirtha (Madhvacharya) had great influence in Orissa. He was even appointed as a Governor of Kalinga. During the rule of Bhanudeva, Chandrikadevi, the daughter of Anangabhimadeva I, constructed the Ananta Basudev temple at Bhubaneswar in 1278 A.D. That year Bhanudeva died and his son Narasimhadeva II was an infant. Narahari Tirtha worked as regent for long twelve years. Narasimhadeva II is known to have fought against the Muslims of Bengal the results of which were decisive. His long reign from 1278 to 1306 was peaceful

During his rule , he remained a sanyasi and converted many adjacent princes and kings to Vaishnav Dvaita fold and renamed them .The Matsya rulers of Oddavadi became independent of the Gangas and were converted to Vaisnavism by Narahari Tiirtha. Arjuna became Narasimha Vardhana, Annamaraja Gopalavardhana and Munjaditya Srirangavardhana. Sri Narahari Tiirtha was also responsible for the conversion of many princely and aristocratic families of Kalinga and Andhra regions to Madhva fold. The descendants of these families still flourish in the coastal Andhra and adjoining states.

When the successor had attained maturity to take charge of the kingdom, he handed over the State and left for the UDUPI. The Young Raja wanted to give presents to the outgoing Sanyasi. But Sri Narahari theertha did not accept anything. When the young Rajakumar persisted him to have something as a memento, he took the MoolaRama idols from the Raja Bhanadara and arrived at the Udipi Kshetra on Kartheeka shudhdha Dwadashi evening. He submitted these idols to SriMan Madhwacharya. The morning Pooja were over due to Dwadashi. Yet Sriman Madhwacharya again went to Sri Madhwa sarovara and took bath and completed the Ahneeka . Taking these Bramha KaraaRchitha [one adorned and prayed by Bramha] idols and kept by the side of Lord Kadagol Krishna and performed the Pooja.

Sri Narahari theertha was performing Sanchara in all the directions like Sri PadmanaBha theertha spreading the Dwaitha doctrine. He came to a village called GollarahaLLI. That early morning, Lord Sriman NarayaNa appeared in his dream informing the saint that he was in the form of an idol in the nearby tank. Accordingly, the saint with his parivara went to the spot indicated by the lord and brought a beautiful idol of Sri LakshminarayaNa and installed in a temple specially constructed for it. The Tank was improved. It started yielding good crops for the nearby fields. People called the tank as NarayaNa Kere .Tipu sulthan on horse back, on his way to a war, happened to see this Lakshminarayana idol and went on to conquer KoppaLa, on his return, Tippu saw the idol again. He was pleased. As a mark of his victory he made arrangements for a diamond studded crown for this idol.

The saint came to a village called Chikkera haLLi near MoLakalmanoor. The saint dreamt that Anjaneya was inside a big anthill in that village. The mud was extracted and the saint found Anjaneya Vigraha Pratishtapana was done as per the wishes of Anjaneya and people believe that it belonged to Janamejayaraya’s period. A separate temple was constructed.

Sri Narahari teertha was Acharya’s pet student. He wrote commentary for Geetha Bhashya. He also wrote commentaries for Yamaka Bharatha. Also wrote Keerthana’s in Kannada language. He lived for 80 years in Kalinga, Andhra, and Karanataka States He gave ashram to Sri Maadhawa Theertha. Behind the Vijaya vitala temple of Hampi near Chakratheertha, he entered Brindavana.

What was the neccesity for Madhvacharya to send Narhari teerth to Kalinga?

The story ends with Narhari teertha bringing the MOOLRAMA vigraha .This is gold idol still in Mantralayam and has interesting background which warrants a naration.

God Narayana is omnipotent . Lord has all his roopa intact and imperishable. So Lord MoolRama was /is present even before Lord Ram actually appeared as son of Dasharath.

Bramha was praying this idol Moolrama in Satyaloka . He had appointed a deity by name “ShankhaKarna” to bring everyday tulasi and flowers without fail and punctually at the time of pooja of Bramha .

Shankhakarna was prompt in his duty for yugas. However one day , as he gazed the idol , a desire to do the pooja himself to the idol of MoolRama and hold it in the his hands , crisscrossed the mind of the deity. Engrossed in his desires and such thoughts and dreams , he forgot to hand over the tulasi and flowers to Bramha in time.

Bramha in anger cursed him to be born on earth as rakshas . When prayed ardently by the ShanhaKarna , Bramha smiled and said this was not a curse but a anugraha shapa [ a boon in disguise] . He had grased his desire and in his one of the births he would pray the idol with his own hands. And all his births he will be specially devoted to VISHNU.

ShankhaKarna was born as Prahlad.[ chief inspiration behind the advent of lord as NARSIMHA] . Then he was born as BALHIKA [ elder brother of SHANTANU and uncle of BHEESHMA fought war and died in the hands of BHEEMA, he was the eldermost[elder to bheeshma ] warriors in MAhabharata war] .Then he took birth as Shri RAGHAVENDRA Swamy.

Bramha gave the idol to Ikshvaku of Solar dynasty. From there it came to Dasharath and the Lord RAM gave it to Lakshman ,subsequently to Hanuman.

Hanuman gave this to Bheemasen . Bheemasen after the war handed it over Kalinga King. In this Kalinga lineage , this remained in orrissa but the pooja had long ago stopped and hence it was kept in the Royal storage.

It was through Narahari teertha it came back to Bheemsen [ Madhvacharya] and in the mutt was continuouskly prayed daily by the MUtt POntiffs. Thus in this tradition Shri Raghavendra was appointed Pontiff by Sudhindra teerth. and Shriraghavendra [ShankhaKarna] fulfilled his long cherished dream of praying MOOLRAMCHANDRA

As Pandavs were living peacefully in the forest after Karna nd Duryodhan were rescued by Arjun from gandharva Chitrasen . A bramhin one day came by to the place where pandavs were dwelling.

Bramhin had his arani cariied away by a deer .What is arani ?

In olden days bramhins resorted to Agnihotra everyday . Agnihotra required the fire to be lit in the homa Kunda. This fire was lit with the help of sticks known as Arani . two arani sticks when rubbed caused fire to be lit through kusha and samit.

As arani was carried away by the deer stuck in its horns. Bramhin came to Pandavs to get back the arani from the deer which might be wandering in the forest.

All the five brothers set out into the forest. They looked into the direction where deer hoofs were found . they chased the deer deep into the forest , and deer suddenly vanished .

All the five brothers were tired and thirsty due to prolonged chase.

Nakul sad at the events and failure thus spoke to Yudhisthir ;’ Oh elder one, as far as i know our ancestors have never turned down the request of the subjects . Neither did we ever fail in our daily oblations and prayer towards the Lord. Nor do I remember a day when we have sinned or missed a Vow. Then What caused our failure to catch this deer .

Sahadev said ” I did not make any mistakes in my Life except when Shakuni decieved in the dice , I should have Killed him then and there , But I failed to do so , thus today because of that karma seeing this day of exhaustion and failure.”

Arjun too claimed He should have slit the throat of Karna as he uttered those words to Draupadi “

Bheem agreed with them , but Yudhisthir said, which Karma we are reaping now is in the hands of Yama[dharma] ,so we cannot exactly be reaping instantaneous karma .Strange are the ways of destiny known only to Dharma.

Yudhisthir then ordered Nakul to look for water nearby. Nakul climbed the tree and saw a watery bushes and cranes flying . Thus He told nerby a pond must be there . Yudhisthir ordered to bring water to quebch the thirst .

Nakul went to the Pond. Dharma disguised as baka bird warned ‘ oh son answer my question and then drink , else you shall die’

Nakul without paying heed drank the water and lay still .

Arjun went and listening to the Voice looked in all directions , took a arrow and hit the shabdavedhi arrow to cover entire pond with arrows .

Yama said ‘ why this much of efirt just answer few questions and drink’

Arjun did not pay heed .

Bheem to did not pay heed and laid still.

To answer the questions and take water would be akin to using Vidya for self sustainance . this is not allowed for kshatriys . Thus even if these knew the answers . they preffered deth than foregoing Dharma.

Yudhisthir however in order to revive his brothers thought to answer the Yaksha.

Yaksha asked many questions.. Yudhisthir answered them successfully .

happy with dharma’s son answers ,Yama said He would revive only one of the brothers.

Yudhisthir asked Nakul to be revived.

Yama said ‘ Yudhisthir , everyone Knows Bheem is quiet dear to you ,he is the one who has brouht kingdom to you and he is the one You are relying to gain back Kingdom from Duryodhan . why did you then choose Nakul to be revived .

Yudhisthir said.’oh noble one , You seem not to be ordinary yaksha for none in this entire universe except celestials can put these to slumber. neither these brothers of mine have turned pale due to poison of pond .

It seems your maya has made them so. but I chose Nakul because I am the surviving son of Kunti , My father’s other wife Madri is also equally a mother to me . It is for that her son should also be alive I asked nakul. ‘

Yaksha happy with yudhisthir revived all the brothers. Revealiing himself as Yama as father of Yudhisthir. Yama said it was to test him he disguised as deer toook the Arani of the bramhin. Pleased he asked Yudhisthir to seek a boon.

Yudhisthir asked ‘let this bramhin never fail in his agnihotra’

Yama happy asked Yudhisthir to seek another boon. Yudhisthir said 12 years have completed in forest , 13th year is to commence , they have to live incognito[indisguise] . Let no one recognise them in this year.

Yama replied ‘ I give you all a boon to assume any form of your choice as long as you wish and resume at your will. No one will be able to recognise you all by my boon even if you all are in original forms.’

Yudhisthir said’ as they are all born to devatas , they ahev naturally very high radiance far superior to ordinary men and kings. This would definitely raise a suspicion in the minds of people and duryodhans’ spies may easily target them ‘

Yama by his maya reduced their lustre .assured them they would never be recognised.

Pleased with Yudhisthir Yama asked to seek another boon , Yudhisthir asked to ever remain in Dharma . ‘ Yama blessed it to be so as to become very nature of Yudhisthir.

Happily Pandavs returned the Arani to Bramhin . went to Virat for Agnyat Vasa.

Ninth lord exalted in the kendra aspected by jupiter , man acquires everything in his life by luck and grace of the Guru.

Once there was a simple ,poor,average bramhin .[ Not very brilliant or charismatic] . But he had immense faith and devotion in the Shri Raghavendra swamiji . He was serving swamiji with single minded reverence. After many years of worship and service , he decided to visit his native place and his parents. To take the leave of the Guru he waited patiently at the gates of the abode of HIs Holiness Shri Raghavendra swamiji.Swamiji had just finished his daily chores was out from the toilet and was washing the hands with the soil in the garden .

The disciple wished the guru and insisted on giving him some momento to carry home from the Guruji. Guru picked up the mrittika[soil] from the earth and gave him . He happily [ and piously] tied it into his angavastra[ mufler cloth] and set out for the village. All the while thoughts crisscrossed his mind , that he had served the teacher for so long , Swamiji was known to change people’s life , but nothing actually did happen in his case. Perhaps [he thought to himself ] I was not very bright student and thus did not deserve any special attention . Or may be I had not impressed him by my service. Well just accepting the fate , the lad set out towards the goal.

Night fell on ; thus he had to take shelter in the nearby village . It so happened he slept in the verandah of a noted rich noble family of the village . Now this family had history of miscarriages and birth of dead child from many years. There was no male issues to the lady of the house except for a grown up daughter . For past ten years every child born was dying under mysterious conditions.Today also the lady was about to give the birth.

IN the midnight a huge Rakshas appeared at the door of the Noble man . But this day Rakshasa was not able to enter the house as a fire was emanating from the doorstep . It so happened that our hero [disciple] was sleeping with the angavastra [ the one which contained the soil from the Swamiji] under his head near the doorstep in the verandah. Rakshasa woke him up , somehow the lad was not afraid a bit at the sight of a gigantic huge demon. Instead sleepily he rebooked him , Rakshas said , his prey was about to take birth and he was unable to enter the house . What was it he was carrying in the mufler . Feeling insecure the disciple hid his mufler and shyed away from the demon . Not to part with it  as it was a momento of the Swamiji. A tussle arose between the two , angered disciple hit the demon with the mufler. Demon died on the spot.

Day broke out and people were surprised to see the huge demon dead at the doorstep of the noblemen and inside lady had delivered a baby boy ,ha;e and healthy. Now understanding the mystery behind their misfortune , they thanked the bramhin .

Thinking the disciple to be very blessed personality and also being indebted to him , the noble chief offered his daughter to him and also his half wealth. He called upon his parents and with a great pomp and show married the couples off gifting them all the amenities of house utensils , ornaments , cloth,chieftainship of village as livelihood and many more gifts. The couple and family lived happily by the grace of SHri Raghavendra swamiji. So much for a average man’s selfless service.

Arishta Bhanga-[Avoidance of unfortunate Yoga]

There are many arishta yogas in Astrology . These bring misfortunes or even death to the native and his prospects.But a single strong benefic in the kendra destroys all the evils .If malefic causing arishta yoga is hemmed between the benefics then the maleficence will cease and only benefic results will flow.

Once Shri Raghvaendra Swamy was on a pilgrimage towards south India . On his way he stooped along with his entourage at a village . A village is headed by the Desai . Desai accorded a welcome to the entire Swami’s disciple at his house and requested for the MoolRama ‘s pooja to be held in his house that day. The whole village and nearby people had gathered in his house.

[ All the Swamiji's carry some Idol of divine presence with them given their respective gurus . They must perform daily pooja in a detailed manner as prescribed to Sanyasi's to this idol and saligrama etc. The lapse in this routine causes the Sanyasi to lose his post and authority . Shri Raghavendra Swamy had Shri MoolRama idol with him . This Idol was handed down from Bramha to Sanatkumar to Durvasa and others on to the earth. Even Lord Shri Rama  prayed this Idol himself . Thus Shri MOOLRAMAidol and its pooja is held in high esteem even to this date]

Desai arranged for the prasad [ grand lunch ] to all the participants in his house . The whole atmosphere got festive as Shri Raghavendra swamiji performed Pooja to Lord Rama . The atmosphere resembled that of Bramha’s abode resplendent with all the devatas as the pooja commenced [ primarily because Devatas themselves come everyday to witness this grand pooja].

Delicious sweets were being prepared in the large kitchen . A vessel full of KHEER was also prepared. Desai had a son of eight years age. He merrily went into kitchen at the smell of sweets . Everyone was busy in the prayer hall attending to guests and witnessing pooja. Boy accidentally slipped into the vessel and died. The parents having noticed this went into untold grief . But laying aside the grief and their son in another room , they hid their emotions and also the news of their son’s death , lest it would put an end to the celebration in the house and guests would return without partaking food.

Thus with  a heavy heart they ordered the neighbour to carry on with the serving of food to the guests and completion of the ritual. Shri Raghavendra swamiji enquired about the hosts Desai and his family and their well being. But the relatives refused to divulge the details. Swamiji ordered to bring the Family before him. The couple appeared with heavy heart . Swamiji also ordered their son to be brought out in the open .

The whole atmosphere was grief ridden as the body of the infant was brought before the Swamiji.  Shri Raghavedra swamiji sprinkled the holy teertha of shri Moolrama on the body of the boy and chanted the mantra . The boy’s life was restored. The boy got up as usual and went to his mother playfully unaware of the details. The entire family was moved to tears with gratitude towards the great saint . EVEryone had a hearty meal all the while wondering the greatness of the MoolRama teertha and Swamiji’s mantra shakti and his merciful act .

5th House – Sankalpa and Emperor Raghu

God is SatyaSankalpa .He never fails in carrying out the work that he resolves to undertake or carry out. Puranas written at the beginning of each manvantara are Hari sankalpa ,and they occur as it is ordained.God never breaks the rules set by himself.

Humans are on the contrary are sankalp Bhrasta .They always break the resolutions made by themselves. What is sankalpa ?

In our tradition before performing any work we undertake sankalpa ,a kind of declaration to ourselves and the God within us that On such and such day ,at such and such place ,I [ so and so belonging to so and so race and in the lineage of such and such personality ] by name ………… decide to undertake this [work ,desire, karma ] for obtaining such and such thing .

The purpose of this sankalpa is that it is registered and human undertakes many births to complete this sankalpa ,even if he fails in first attempt . If he fails , even then his desire does not vanish away or fade away ,it remains in his heart till death and even after death it remains as” vasana “[samskara] in the mind . This gives rise to further birth and further attempts till the soul acquires vairagya towards the object of the sankalpa.

Without sankalpa no objective can be accomplished. No remedies pooja or karma succeeds without sankalpa. Thus one must always start a work with proper sankalpa . For example ,

Sankalpa is of the form :

  • such and such day ; which day what is the reference ?
  • Aadya bramhane dwitiya parardhe [ From the day Bramha came into existence in universe , in his second half of the life cycle ie after 50 years to Bramha in 51 st year]
  • Shwetavaraha Kalpe [ a day in a bramha's life starts with fresh creation of species ,so each day is special and this day is that when Lord Narayana took the form of White Boar and salvaged the earth from the deep waters and raised it with his tusk .
  • Vaivasvat Manvantare [ in every day of Bramha there are 14 manus of which 5 have passed in the sixth the Son of Vivaswan is the Manu ,hence this is Vaivastwat Manvantara ]
  • Kaliyuge pratham pade [ in this Manvantara 27 mahayugas have passed and in 28th , Krita ,Treta and Dwapar has also passed now we are in Kaliyuga and in the first quarter 5109 years later ]
  • Bauddha avatare [ In the time When lord has taken birth as Buddha]

    • Jambudweepe [ In this Bramhanda on the earth Bhumandala there is a Jambudweepa island surrounded by lavan samudra ]

    This is Sankalpa. Sankalpa made thus gives us strength to complete the task thoroughly and accomplish the desired.

    Note :This sankalpa is being uttered by everyone in India from time immemorial . This was used by my ancestors as well and also the ancestors of every Bramhins in India . This was taught from father to son in every family . There does not arise any  scope for doubt in this words as father would never mislead his son.Not every father in a nation of billion people .This goes on to prove that we Indians have a lineage of lakhs of years as dates of the rishis mentioned as forefathers exists in every literature and dates back to many millions of years. There was a prosperous civilization even millions of years ago and we take pride in the fact that they were our forefathers and every story recounted thus is not a myth but a reality and a lesson in humanity.

    This disproves darwin that we have emanated from apes as none of the mentioned above were ever apes .This also proves that kaliyuga is 5109 years old and great war of Mahabharatha was fought before that.

    • The fifth pada if exalted and aspected by jupiter and ninth lord and simultaneously 10 pada be in mutual trine , once sankalpa will be successful.
    • Benefics in trines and malefics in 3 6 11 will ensure success in sankalpa
    • Thus choosing good muhurtha for a task is equally important for success of the task .

    If mental resolution is strong and dedicated and according to dharma then success is foregone conclusion.

    The story of Raghu the Great grandfather of Shri Ramchandra Prabhu is testimony to this .

    Once there was a bramhin sage by name Varatantu who was Kulpati of a school in pratishtapur . Kautsa was  a disciple who had completed the study under his tutorship . After completing the study Kautsa wished to give Gurudakshina to the sage . Sage said an able students zeal in completing the study is enough for a Guru as dakshina. Money is not to be sought for imparting education . 

    Kautsa repeatedly pleaded for the Guru to ask for a Gurudakshina . Angered by this pestering Guru said ok then get me 14000 crores of gold coins for the fourteen years of the study .

    Kautsa was deeply taken aback by this . Now a word is word it has to be carried out . Kautsa set out to earn such a wealth. He contemplated for a while and decided to ask dana to Emperor Raghu .

    Raghu was the son of Dileep and Father of Aja [grandfather of Ram]. Raghu had won entire earth . But he undertook Vishwajit yaag ,where by one gives up all his wealth and then lives all by himself not dependent on the people or land that he has donated.

    So after donating everything he had , Raghu was living in a small hut ,eating in an  earthen vessel and sleeping on a kusha [grass] . The disciple came looking after the King and surprised at his fate and king’s state of existence [Impoverished] ,he cursed unto himself the moment whence he insisted for Guru Dakshina.

    King Raghu welcomed the Bramhin and asked for the purpose of his visit , Hesitatingly Kautsa put forward his necessity for  14000 crores of gold coin . King Raghu asked him to accept his hospitality for  that day and promised to give him the money in a three days. Kautsa agreed .

    King Raghu thought that kind of wealth will probably not be there anywhere on the earth to be instantaneously acquired . BUT Kubera might definitely be having it , so why not wage a war on him and get the wealth . Raghu made a sankalpa to give the Bramhin Kautsa 14000 crores of gold coins from Kubera’s treasury. Thinking so , he prepared to go to the land of Yakshas [ Alkapuri] in the north of Meru . He gathered all the arrows and astras in is trench and slept that night to start towards Alkapuri .

    Kubera having known Raghu’s Sankalpa , thought ” why war for just few gold coins ” Raghu is invincible and would definitely get his desired . So why not give him what he wishes for and avoid conflict .So he deposited much more wealth than what Kautsa demanded on a shami tree in the Raghu’s hutment [during the night] and went away . Next day seeing the wealth got , Raghu was happy and thanked Lord Narayana for having completed his sankalpa . and gave the gold coins to Kautsa.

    Kautsa took just 14000 crore coins and presented it to Varatantu . Sage though happy at his disciples’s feat said , wealth is not meant for bramhins, Bramhins must not accumulate wealth for selfish purpose , The King is the right owner of this wealth as he uses it for the welfare of his subject. Sage returned it to the King for the welfare of the state. Thus great wealth came to city of Ayodhya to the delight of its citizens whose all wishes were fulfilled by it .

    Great is the capacity of the kings in Surya vamsa of Ikshvaku lineage , Great is king Raghu ,who fulfilled his people’s need just by a mere Sankalpa.

    4th House -Sukha Dukha Asha

    • The fourth ,tenth and seventh bhava are sukha sthanas for a person in a horoscope.
    • These denote special happiness that strike humans .
    • These places if placed well man will be happy .
    • Venus in fourth will give all kinds of wealth and enjoyments all through the life.
    • People with venus in the 10th house are rarely found to be hard working ,but surprisingly the whole world works for them , there is something special about a bhog graha in a karma sthana ,that even he enjoys during work hours too. he exerts very little and yet achieves a lot . People are mad about these personalities and form a subject matter of gossip due to envy.
    • 4 th house especially points to general happiness , venus well placed in this house makes one a happy go lucky . He will be a ashavaadi .[" boss Umeed pe duniya kayam hai" , this will be his mantra]
    • But venus in the seventh house is not preferable as this will not give conjugal bliss due to excessive demands of the person. He will have multiple partners and always unhappy about his marital status.
    • However venus in 4th house gives abundant joys , friendships and a place of admire among relatives.
    • Moon in fourth house gives enjoyments with  a woman in a unfinished house .
    • Mars in such position gives enjoyments in a stable of horse
    • Venus and mars makes one enjoy in a cow shed or buffalo shed.
    • ketu will give a  broken house
    • saturn will give a house made of iron
    • sun that of wood
    • mercury will give modern house.
    • moon with rahu makes one adjust to pleasures in a water pump room.
    • Affliction to fourth house will make one weep in his lifetime
    • If fourth house is polluted then the person will fall prey to schemes by others.
    • If fourth lord is with malefics one will leave hopes and become pessimistic
    • Fourth gives what is known as quality of life , standard of living.
    • Fourth in the rasi indicates external signs of happiness
    • Forth in kalamsa gives internal happiness
    • If fourth lord  is badly placed in kalamsa then however happy his position would reflect ,he will be straining his mind in terms of anger and jealousy and inner fear and sense of loss.
    • On the contrary when fourth lord is ill placed in rasi yet well placed in kalamsa , however unhappy a man seems to be , however unfortunate his position may seem to be , he would be infact making merry all the time in solitude.

    Pandavas lost father at a young age

    • Their births were questioned
    • They grew in jungle
    • They suffered murder attempts every now and then all through youth
    • They were denied a place to live
    • They were insulted
    • They were exiled
    • They wandered from place to place
    • They had to marry in disguise
    • They had to live in a broken house
    • They had to live separately from wives time and again
    • They bore children in anonymity
    • Their children grew without their presence
    • They were always war stricken
    • They faced poverty
    • They faced tough enemies
    • They had to serve others as unknowns .[identity]
    • Lost manliness
    • They were repeatedly spied ,chased and troubled
    • They lost all the children before them
    • They had to kill their own relatives
    • When they got kingdom they had none to share it with , only one grandson  of Arjun survived.
    • They reached swarga by walking entire Himalayas and shedding their bodies[death]during cumbersome journey .
    • All this when HImself Lord was with them by their side.

    Can all this be called misfortunes.? Yet they never complained . Infact Kunti [Pandavas mother] goes onto say ” Oh Krishna give us only miseries every now and then , for it will make us remember you all the time and our miseries will definitely be destroyed by YOU”.

    Kauravas had everything in this world that a soul could wish for

    • Parents fully supportive
    • Royal birth
    • Royal upbringing
    • Royal Guards[ Bheeshma Drona etc]
    • Royal friends [ Karna shishupala etc]
    • Obedient advisor [ shakuni]
    • Kingdom at young age
    • Riches of others easily got
    • Mild and patient opponents
    • Many wives and no separations
    • All relatives supported them [everyone wanted to marry their daughters to these and not pandavas or their sons]
    • Whole world leadership
    • All the world admired and obliged
    • Got everything he wished for[material wishes]
    • When in peak he shared his riches fame and wealth among kith and kin [ 100s in number ]
    • Body immortal except thighs
    • Died in battlefield and went to swarga while gandharvas showered flowers on him and a special aircraft[viman ]arrived to take him.
    • He never acknowledged Krishna as Lord .

    Can this be called Fortunes ? Yet he always complained , He was dissatisfied , He grew jealous day by day . He could never sleep .He spent most of time hitting the statue of BHeema as practice. He was preoccupied by schemes to trouble Pandavas and they always failed. He was extremely unhappy all through his life .Gandhari [mother of kauravas] cursed Krishna that his clan be wiped just as her sons had been wiped out .

    On the contrary Pandavas were as happy as in Moksha and lead a contented life as they never had any desires and were only preoccupied with service to Lord Sri krishna.

    Rebirth-Justice ShriRamachandra and RamaRajya

    Ramarajya is the best rule ever on the earth by any Emperor. It lasted for 13000 years . Raghupati Raghav Rajaram was the just King ,where in his kingdom everyone knew the interpretation of LAW.Not only humans  but also animals enjoyed rights and went to the court for any misgivings or mishaps. The dharma shastra says miseries to the subjects[praja] is due to the laxity of rule by the King. so every citizen in the tretayuga demanded an explanation from the king for his misfortunes.Men never experienced grief on account of death of children ,Wife never faced any widowhood.No one died before the age of 10000 years .everyone lived full and happy life with all the amenities of life .There were crops all the twelve seasons of the year .It never rained in a non agricultural area and Sun never was too hot . Wind blew with full pleasure of citizens.Trees bore only sweet fruits .Jewels were use of everyday items , utensils were only of gold. All the people were born beautiful and women exhibited complete beauty and youth to the delight of their husbands.In the morning when their blouses got stuck in the ornaments of  husband SUN hesitated to rise ,fearing the disturbance in the conjugal pleasure of the citizens. That was Ramarajya

      This story from RAMAYANA is the crown jewel of episodes during RAMARAJYA.

    Once when Shri Ramachandra the great king in the lineage of Ikshavaku, the avatar of Vishnu was ruling in Ayodhya .One day fa bhikshu [sanyasi] was walking all through the streets for bhiksha[alms] , BUT a great sabha was organised in the palace of  Jagatpati Ram . All the saptarishis and celestial beings and citizens had gathered in the sabha. Owing to it all the streets were empty and Bhikshu could not get any food ,As he was walking in the sun [midday] , he saw a dog lying in his way . Angry with hunger and frustration , he showed his ire on the DOG and hit it with his stick.

    DOG became upset and headed straight to the durbar of ShriRamchandra Prabhu. As it was standing at the gates of the palace , Shri Rama asked LAxman to look if someone has come to ask justice.[Shri Ram did not instruct his servants or gatekeepers dwarpala ,sevak  but he asked Laxman the prince to go and check for himself to ensure anybody is asking for justice] Laxman looked for all the places and did not find anyone and at the gates HE found a dog sitting quietly. He went back and told Shri Ram that except a dog none is there at the gates.

    Shri Rama asked Laxman to bring the Dog inside the Hall . LAxman went to the gates and asked Dog if he had any grievance .Dog replied ” Yes but since I am a dog , I should not enter Rajmahal , as there will always be presence of Devatas in Rajpraasad and houses of holy men , by entering will render it impure and Devatas would leave those places and also good fortunes will leave along with them ,So oh prince kindly take my message to LORD ” . Laxman went back to Lord Ram . Ram instructed Laxman to bring the DOG inside the palace with due respect [ because DOG had the extraordinary sense of dharma and behaviour ,it entitled him to enter Rajpraasad] . Laxman brought the Dog before the Lord Rama.

    Rama asked what is the grievance. Dog with utmost devotion said ” Oh King I seek justice , I was unnecessarily beaten by a BHikshu with no fault of mine whatsoever , it was unwarranted ” Lord Rama summoned the Bhikshu .Bhikshu said ” he was hungry and frustrated and took his ire and anger on the dog ” .

    So in the Sabha of ANGIRASA PULASTYA VASHISTHA VISHWAMITRA GAUTAM  PULAHA AGASTYA ETC  were asked by Ram to give a verdict on the appropriate punishment to the Bhikshu . everybody was surprised and after prolonged deliberation asked Shri Ramchandra to adjudicate the punishment himself.

    Shri Ram declared BHikshu be made the mathadhipati [priest head of institution] of the richest matha [temple] at the outskirts of Ayodhya. Everybody was stumped , is this a punishment or Reward ? saptarishis said this seems to be a reward rather than chastising the BHikshu for wrong doing.

    Shri Ram said verdict should be such that it should bring the feeling of justice being done to the petitioner or aggrieved.So the dog should be the primary one who should be convinced of the verdict .So let us ask if the dog is convinced!

    Dog is delighted at the verdict and expresses its deep gratitude towards Lord RAM. Astonished all the rishis request Lord Ram to explain the reason for such verdict. Lord Ram says” why not hear it from the DOG itself”

    Dog says ” he was the earlier bramhin head priest of that temple in his previous birth . He was very sincere and performing his duties towards the deity in the temple with complete devotion and as per shastras .But still out of some unknown sins he had to take a birth and reborn as dog . This bhikshu does not have control of senses at all , he can neither resist hunger nor anger , thus he is bound to be born as a dog  [owing to the preisthood of the temple ] there cannot be better punishment than this for him”

    The use of donations and gifts and materials given to LORD in a temple by priests will ensure them a rebirth as a dog .

    Everybody applauded the knowledge of the dog and Justice of Raghuvanshi Shri Ramchandra .

    5th House -Poorvapunya

    What is poorva punya?

    A man when attains a age of 14 years ,everyday [each day] he performs karma ,which can be exhausted by enjoying or suffering in next 10 births.That means it takes 10 births to exhaust a days karma performed after the age of 14. thus in a life time a man performs karma that would make him take 2 lakhs of  of births if he lives for 65 years. Then in every next birth he would again amass these karma , thus backlog of karma to be exhausted piles up , in few initial births itself ,it assumes a form of mountain. This is sanchita karma. Of these sanchita karma some are punya and some Papa and some mishra.

    This Punya is known as Poorva Janma punya .this is denoted by 5 th house in astrology. whenever fifth house lord operates , this punya assumes role and gives happiness to the native. Thus 5th house is very auspicious and any association with 5th house lord or bhava ,gives immense happiness due to that factor.

    When malefics or debilitated planet aspect fifth house or lord, it is said there is loss of poorva punya.What is meant by loss of poorva punya?

    on a plain terms loss of punya means loss of a chance to enjoyment that was destined to come. This missing of a chance to enjoy benefits can be as a loss to win over a maid, win a competition or lottery or a election.When such loses occur on account of forced mistakes , it can be understood that there has been a loss of poorva punya.

    When suddenly a bad incident occurs amidst good days ,cutting short a good run of successful stint, it can be recorded as loss of poorva punya.

    Poorva punya is lost by vrata bhanga, hurting elders, abusing elderly, ill treating parents, bringing frown in parents minds, guru’s mind,bramhins,teachers,and vaishnavas.Cursing the one who is unblemished also destroys poorvapunya.

    Curse in general reduces poorva punya.quality of poorva punya determines efficacy of a curse given by an individual. If a poorvapunya is not operating , then one’s curse will not take effect. Similarly a good wishes also reduces poorva punya , they take effects immediately if there is poorvapunya operating, else they will take off in another realm of time.

    Sometimes poorvapunya becomes unwanted to Jeevanmuktas , thus they would like it to be destroyed [ as they do not want it to become a reason for a birth again on the earth].

    Dyut Krida was not played on account of misfortune of Yudhisthira [ it was not the result of sins of previous birth of Yudhisthira] , it was played to reduce the poorva punya of Yudhisthira [ on his own will] , thus causing distress to his brothers and wife , which reduced his Punya .

    Efforts : Bheema and Yudhisthira-A dialogue

    Bheema was the greatest Pandava. He was the main hero of Mahabharath . Bheema was extremely intelligent , knowledged and foremost in Dharma and most dearest to Krishna [more than Arjuna]  . Yudhisthira was eldest among Pandavas .He had a fetish for worldly Dharma only.

    Yudhisthira while in exile[Vanavasa] in forest , had almost become a recluse and withdrawn personality. He had more or less given up the desire to get back his Kingdom , and planned to spend rest of his life in the forest. Bheema knew this was against Kshatriya Dharma.He sent Draupadi to inspire Yudhisthira to gear up for a war against Kauravas ,in case they refuse to return their Kingdom[which was eventual given the nature of Kauravas] .

    Draupadi said” Oh King ,it is not a Dharma to let the criminals go free ,for they should be punished and this is the duty of a King.”

    Dharmaraj said ” Man suffers by the will of the GOD , Kauravas have not insulted on their own without the will of the LORD , lest it is not right to keep a revengeful attitude towards them , Forgiveness is the best quality needed , moreover a war with Kauravas means ,killing Bheeshma and guru Drona ,Kripa etc which is completely adharma and full of Sin. Please do not inspire me towards such heinous act , there is nothing wrong living rest of the life as hermits here. Be in your limits as wife and woman .”

    seeing Yudhisthira adamant and melancholic, Bheema the wisest added” oh king , Listen to my words carefully

    • It is right both good and the bad are under the control of the GOD
    • But it is also true that a soul has to make efforts  .
    • It is the efforts according to which a fruits are given by the Lord.
    • Know this efforts to be also under the control of this LORD.
    • one must make efforts[prayatna] to please God.
    • Efforts should be in accordance with the law laid down by the God.
    • Kshatriya should punish those who are against the laid down Law.
    • those who steal others property ,wife,kingdom,and wealth
    • those who kill people for the sake of wealth
    • those who trouble other innocents without any purpose
    • All these are known as atatayis
    • There is no sin in killing these atatayis
    • even if one surrenders ,if he has commited those heinous crimes ,he must still be killed
    • however this time he must be killed through one’s servants and not by self [king].
    • Kauravas are atatayis , there is no sin in killing them through war.
    • whatever is lost by giving to a woman [ while being taken away by her beauty] , in a gambling ,and whatever given out of fear can always be taken back.there is no sin in it.
    • So make efforts towards war , without your permission we cannot wage war.
    • One gets fruits due to action
    • Action is dependent on
    • Yogyata[Capacity]
    • anadi poorva Karma[past merits,horoscope]
    • prayatna [efforts]
  • Yogyata is determined by the will power[Hatha]
  • Poorva janma karma is in accordance with the Yogyata
  • Prayatna follows the poorva karma.
  • All the three are under the control of God
  • but we must always do karma with prayatna
  • Prayatna should be full and sincere , as per the shastra
  • When there is complete proof of a action in accordance with all the three pramanas
  • efforts should be made towards the object as laid in shastra.
  • when one of the pramanas conflicts the stronger pramana should be adhered to , but efforts should still be made irrespective of consequences . It is only the efforts that qualifies the action to a fruit [phala].”
  • listening to this discourse Yudhisthira finally agrees to wage a war and Thanks his brother to have got him into the right Path.

    Likewise Bheema is the Vayu present as breath in all of us , inspiring us to do the  right karma , efforts is the only way with which we can show gratitude to this Jeevottama[ the greatest among the souls].

    Ardhastama Sani and Story of Nala-Damayanthi

    During Gochara when saturn traverses Fourth house from natal moon , inavariably man leaves his existent place of stay. Many a great kings had to face exile during this period. Rama went to forest in ardhastama,.Pandavas went to vanavas when saturn was in aquarius. When in vanavas Yudhisthira meets Sage Bharadhwaj and relates to him his plight. Yudhisthira says ” oh sage look how unfortunate I am ,I have lost all my wealth, Kingdom and belongings and am wandering in his dense forest. Perhaps no other person would have been as unfortunate as I am .” For this sage Bharadhwaj says,” Oh great King, Consider yourself as fortunate as you have the company of your wife and brothers even at this moment of calamity , to share with you your misfortunes.Pitiable is the plight of him who has no company of his near and dear in times of trouble. King Nala lost his kingdom in a game of dice to his brother , and left to the forest along with his beautiful wife Damayanthi.Damayanthi had a great shining goblet on the head near forehead inside her hair braids. King nala spent a night in the jungle ,along with his wife ,who also set out with him.Nala in the morning saw his clothes fly away by wind , as a result of saturn in the fourth. He thought His wife would go away to her father’s house, if he deserts her in the jungle,, So he tears a part of saree of his wife to cover himself and deserts her goes away deep into the forest. Damayanthi with a torn saree , is caught by a hunter who tries to touch her , but because of her pativratya is burnt to ashes. Damayanthi wanders into the forest and reaches into a city, where  the queen of the city , takes her as a dasi. Damayanthi takes a promise from her that she would not be sent to entertain any males in her Kingdom. Nala tries to rescue a snake in a pit and is severely bitten by it .[ So much for ardhastama , a  beningn act is also rewarded with a poison].Poison of the snake turns Nala into a dwarf , ugly man. Snake says he has done a favour on him by biting himand deforming him. There are difficult days ahead , it would be difficult for him to bear them as NALA. Nala became BAHUK in his crippled form. Snake guided him to go to Raja Rituparna of Ayodhya. Nala was expert in cooking, economics,horse racing,and reaching any places without obstacles. HE could cook without igniting fire, without fetching water and aroma of the substance he touched increased many times. Walls dont offer resistance he could pass through them.

    Rituparna was amazed at his abilities and kept him as his personal charioteer. Damayanthi’s Father was a king of VIDHARBHA , he knowing the fate of his daughter sent many bramhins to look for her in various countries. One of the purohits saw damayanthi in the city and recognized her from her Goblet in the head. He took her back to Vidharbha. Then these bramhins also found out that there was a Bahuk ,the dwarf in Ayodhya who could cook. Damayanthi suspecting BAhuk to be her husband, declares her second swayamvar , and send invitation  everywhere . Now invitation said the swayanvar was on the next day only. Ayodhya was the nearest country about 1000 km from Vidharbha . Only Nala could drive a chariot at 1000km within a day in those days. So Bahuk upset at his wife’s decision , inspires Rituparna to attend Vidharbha Swayamvar. Rituparna agrees but is afraid whether they can reach Vidarbha overnight,BAhuk assures.  On the way  Rituparna is amazed at Bahuk’s ability, he wants to learn the art, so he asks BAhuk,” can you tell me how many leaves are there on the tree below “( their chariot is actually flying in the air at that speed) . Now BAHUK says how can one count leaves on the tree . Rituparna says he has a amazing mathematical technique,He gives the number and it turns out to be exact . Rituparna agrees to teach this technique provided Bahuk teaches him his Art.

    Both reach Vidharbha but find no festivities, Rituparna immidiately hides his intention ,and accepts hospitality. Now in a outhouse damayanthi spies on BAHUK as to how he cooks and how obstacles vanish in his presence and how aromas of trees an flowers increase manyfolds . She recognises NALA , Asks him why he had deserted her. HE says he knew how powerful,intelligent she was , and was confident that she would take care of hersellf.  With this Damayanthi and NALA pray shani and Kali inside him unable to bear the poison comes out and asks forgiveness and leaves away. Hari gives boon that whoever listens to this story is freed of miseries of kaliyuga . Both Nala Damayanthi regain the kingdom and  live happily, Rituparna is proud that he had for a friend such a great KING.” #

    Oh Yudhisthira , you atleast have everyone by your side , look at NALA he even lost his own self ,and was left with none to share his woes. So pray Lord Krishna for being so kind to You.”

    Saturn in fourth brings everyone to his ground self be it a king or common man . We are all puppets in the hands of planets.

    Nabhasa yogas

    Dasas in the man’s life keep changing. As the dasas change the life events take a unusual twists and turns . When we are running good dasa , we are happy , reaping good fortune, lucky in everything that we undertake , auspicious events like marriage , birth of son , promotion,association with beautiful people,vacation , awards, construction of anew house,gains ,purchase of vehicles all these events take place. When running bad dasa, we get miseries , illness, misfortunes,leaving for a foreign land ,living miserably there, pennilessness,debts, imprisonment,harassments,abuse,injury,impairment,insult,confinement,burning of house,damage to vehicles,failure in undertaking,losses,taxation,fines,separation from near and dear ,loss of position,loss of kingdom,death etc.

    however there are some people we find are always happy all through their lives. Do these dasa don’t affect them ?All  the planets cannot be favorable for a single person! Here is the secret , these people have Nabhasa yogas in their horoscopes. These yogas operate irrespective of dasa . there are 1800 types of nabhasa yogas.

    for example if all the planets are in seven signs then veena yoga is formed, a person born in veena yoga will be fond of songs ,dance instruments, happy,wealthy,and a leader among men.

    this quality will always be present in this yoga till death giving him riches and happiness irrespective of dasas. Lord’s Creation is very tricky, on one hand every Great king has suffered , some commoners become King but only in a particular phases , showing the ever swinging nature of destiny, Yet there are some who defy everything and keep a happy posture all the time .

    Moola nakshatra -The story of chandrahasa

    During Mahabharata era there lived a very just and benign ruler called Chandrahasa. He was a great devotee of Lord Krishna.Chandrahasa was born to a king in the star of MOOLA with moon sign  Sagittarius. This star is considered very inauspicious.It is said to wipe out entire clan after the birth of the child , child himself faces premature death . People of this star either live a wretched life or kingly life of high gains and successful accomplishments..if successful , they later on establish a great unhindered race . (all extremes) Girls born in these star usually marry boys whose father has expired.It is inauspicious for Father in law.

    These people usually have six fingers or toes.

    Chandrahasa too had six toes. As he was born,the kingdom was attacked and king died in the battlefield , queen succumbed to the news .Minister took charge as the caretaker and wanted to usurp the kingdom. so he ordered henchman to kill the baby. These mercenaries took the boy to the jungle , feeling pity at the child cut off his sixth toe ,smeared their swords with the blood as proof and left the boy in the jungle. baby was crying as  villagers carried him to the village and he grew up as a village boy.one day as boy was playing with pebbles , he found a strange pebble with which he could win almost all pebbles of his fellowbeings in the game. He carefully preserved this stone into his mouth day and night. This stone was Saligrama of Lord Vishnu.

    With daily oblations to lord in the mouth he became purified.. His body lustre grew day by day. Nearby King Vikramasena was issueless .so he asked astrologers to examine the chart of the lusturous boy , whether he is fit to be king to be adopted. Astrologers declared him to be a blessed child . King adopted Chandrahasa , Chandrahasa prayed to Saligrama with devotion every day . One day neighboring King (earlier minister Durbuddhi) happened to visit the kingdom , stunned by the boy’s appearance and also witnessing his sixth toe(cutoff) sensed danger to his kingdom. So he hatched a plan to finish this boy. He pleaded the Vikramsena that he had forgotten an important document , would like to fetch it,if he could send his  adopted son to get it for Him. (Minister-king) Durbuddhi wrote a letter asking his son to give “Visha” (poison) to the bearer of this letter.

    Chandrahasa rode a horse and went to the Durbuddhi’s Kingdom. Near the palace ,he took rest in the nearby garden and fell asleep.Durbuddhi had a beautiful  daughter “Vishala” by name. She also visits  the garden , falls in love with a sleeping lustrous prince . She curiously reads the letter he held , sensing her fathers’ treachery , she adds “la” to the word “Visha” with her kajal (eye liner). now the text becomes

     Give “Vishala” to the bearer of this letter.

    son happy at his Fathers’ decision , announces marriage in the state. invitaion is sent to Vikramasena as well . \shocked everyone came to the capital. Durbuddhi still wanting to kill Chandrahasa , asks him to visit the family temple outside the capital as ritual. He sets up two henchmen to hack the first person who appears in the temple.

    Chandrahasa gets ready towards the temple , Vishala’s brother insists that he will accompany and enters first the temple to be hacked by the henchmen. Durbuddhi becomes inconsolable and repents for the entire misdeeds, asks pardon to Chandrahasa . Chandrahasa prays goddess Durga to bring back the life of Son of Durbuddhi ,since it was his misfortune that got exchanged with durbuddhi , due to his extreme devotion to Saligrama. Devi obliged , Vishala married chandrahas. He ruled for 900 years, where in his kingdom ,everyone was a vaishnava and no sorrows were known.

    One day Arjuna along with Krishna came to conquer Chandrahasa . hearing about Krishna , Chandrahasa ran outskirts to pay his respects to \\krishna . Arjuna angrily said “what Kshatriya are you ,I have come to win your part of the world , and you are insanely crying looking at Krishna .Take your arms and Fight.”

      900 year old man says to 46 year old Arjuna ,”hey mighty pandav , with lord of the entire world by your side ,which world are you set-about to conquer . is there any world beyond Krishna ? so i pray to HIM , you may kill me if you wish. “

    Krishna intervenes and blesses Chandrahasa , Arjuna is ashamed at his childishness , makes peace with Chandrahasa.

    Thus Chandrahasa changed his destiny of shortlife and misfortune with great fortune and divine blessings by the worship of Saligrama Vishnu.

    Poornayush,Poornasampathi – Fluctuating fortunes

    We are all born with fixed longevity and fixed prosperity . With every success of accurate predictions by Astrologer , the Pruchchaka(client) wonders whether there is any scope for improvement in life , there seems to be definiteness in everything that this astrologer predicts. what am i doing.

    a student thinks well i have good time i am going to get the grades , what use is extra study. what use is extra efforts?

    shastra clearly reject such thinking.  a new born baby ‘s life is not predictable for atleast 24  years. because death may come to the child due to its own past sins within first four years, next  16 years child may die due to sins of mother and or father. hence child should be taken care of through medication , pious living, and homa and other autereties.

    secondly longevity and wealth of the humans are fluctuating day by day with their deeds. a bad deed brings down life and wealth. a good deed increases. for eg. eating in a iron plate decreases life, cutting one’s hair on saturday decreases life span. irregular sexual habits decreases span of life. etc.

    daily poojas , devotion to elders and dieties bring about good fortune and increase in wealth and longevity. Assume a man leads a 100 years life.

    360 days for a year (savana year  not solar) makes up 36000 days and 36000 nights.Human body has 72000 nadis. As everyday/night  passes each nadi is swichted off .a mere look at man can tell about his age and fortunes by the study of his state of nadi , a knowledge held secret . With an evil karma , many nadis forcibly gets deactivated (devoid prana)as a result of divine will. and men loses his lustre. At the time of death soul resists yama pasa by hiding in each and available nadi. but finds no recluse.finally when prana is empty it has to leave along with yamaduta.

    Men has to perform good deeds when there is strength and age on his side. increase his longevity. God brings humans into this world to understand HIM, eyes to look at his image, ears to listen about his Glory, mouth to eat his prasad, speak about his Glorious  qualities feet to visit his temple. hand to do his archana. Astrilogers can only predict they are not the masters of destiny, they are only for guidance , believe in purushartha.

    so make hay when sun shines. Appease lord and get his blessings for Poorna ayus and poorna sampathi .

    Effect of the debilitated planet – Yudhisthira

    Yudhisthira had a combination of Raja Yoga enabling him to lord over entire 11 lokas. His kingdom /Lordship exceeded that of Indra . Having defeated both Indra and Shiva with the help of Bheemasena and Arjuna. It was during such invasion on swarga Arjuna confronted Urvasi and got cursed. Showing they had transworld interaction in the very human form. But despite such beautiful combination raja yoga (dharma karmadhipati in simhasanamsha) , Yudhisthira was born in vrishchika rasi having moon debilitated. Even if one planet is debilitated ,  during its dasa and antardasa gives loss wealth, postion, and danger of death. and such antardasa repeatedly come in once life. Look how Yudhisthira continuosly at frequent intervals in his life faced dangers of Death ( laksha graha, ekchakrapuri, yaksha prasna ,chitrasena gandharva, vanavasa,virat nagar agyat vasa, arjuna’s wrath on Yudhisthira, karna letting him go alive, dyut krida twice, khandava dahan) .their last rites were performed by people of hastinapur thrice ,even while they were alive, He suffered poverty many times, born in jungle, went to ekchakrapuri lived in a broken house giving rent to a poor bramhin,during vanvasa  Sage Durvasa had come to ask food when everything in his house was empty, a day of poverty(even though he had akshaya patra he could not feed Durvasa, ofcourse Lord Krishna helped him out).when he did ashwamedha yagya after Mahabharata war he had no money to feed bramhins  so Krishna  again saved him  with treasure of Vali from Ramayana. left over wealth of King Bali beyond Meru. All this for a debilitated planet .The avastha described for debilitated planet is Rikta BY Muni Parashar, it does not leave even a great emperor of the 11 worlds.

    But continuing from previous post, could all these have been avoided by the living apostle of Dharma of his times.  Answer is Yes , because these souls Yudhisthira, Nala,Harishchandra , Laxmana, all these are above nine planets in terms of strength and calibre. They can very well command these planets to shower good fortune without break irrespetive of their destiny. Then why did they have misfortune take over them. There are multiple reasons for these behaviour. We shall examine them one by one.

    1. these were all divine beings descended from the heavens . They were not humans in any way. When super humans descend , they have ,a secret oath ,administered in the court of Lord Narayana that they would ,all the while ,resist from using their divine powers /abilities. Most of these births are to be born as aides to Lord to serve him on the earth . to delude demons into believing that they are just humans. Hence the pact is to remain as human as possible. One who fulfils this condition is given more marks i.e more appreciation from Lord krishna. But not all keep their promises. Some out of anger / ego and sometimes in disgust at the events around them , just remember their original form and regain their abilities and powers. but they lose out in the race . Just as we humans have a race in the life as to who will live an honest and serene life . but many of us fail in given circumstances to keep our honesty and serenity. we sin. These greats do not sin under any circumstances and that is why they are divine . But they are judged by the above criteria. (i shall give some examples of such behaviour in next posts.

    2. BhagvadGeetha – says to  remain unaltered (within chittha) in happiness and sorrow and unattached to the  material (events as well as to objects). These greats were param Bhagavata . hence they take things as they come without actually making effort to either avoid the events nor do they make special efforts in aquiring fame,wealth etc. Things come to them naturally and they enjoy them without being attached. for eg Bheemasena never used any astras even though he had siddhi of 9 crores astras. even if it meant immidiate death when faced with agni astra. he did not counter them but made pieces of them with his own heat. Pandavas remained bramhacharya most of the times in their life even if they had most beautiful women as their wife. and many other wives.they were unattached to pleasures and pains of loss of kingdom.

    3. Man has many types of karmas binding him a> Sanchita karma b> agami karma c> prarabdha karma. sanchita is one we have accumulated over many births. agami that we are definitely going to perform in our future births without our having any control. Prarabdha is that which we are presently enjoying or suffering. a part sanchita later becomes prarabdha. out of this prarabdha there is one more which is called anadi karma. that which covers the souls like a skin of banana.This is the grand plan of Lord . this is what no one can change. Most of the events that we have mentioned are of this nature. Though Lord is mercifull he showers benefits to even mitigate these . But at that stage a bhakta becomes nirlipta to ask for such favours. instead he chooses to bear the destiny leaving everything to Lord . -a Jeevanmukta. Yudhisthira and all such others and Pandavas were Jeevanmuktas.

    i have given the above points to the best of my knowledge and learning it is not complete in itself , more learned may throw more light on it and whatever errors found be forgiven and taken as in  hansaKshirnyaya.

    Yudhistira was an expert in gambling . He could command dices to give out his favourable number.So was Shakuni adept with mystical dice in his hands. Pandavas , the last among whom Sahadeva was an excellent astrologer. He would always predict there would be great war and kauravas would be defeated. He knew they(Pandavas) would be defeated in the gamble.( such was greatness of Sahadeva that even duryodhana had his muhurta for Mahabharata war set by Sahadeva though a rival).

    what made Yudhistira lose his magic touch. why did his knowledge of dice betray him on that fateful day? mind you dice was played twice in his life one succeeding other . The first one brought insult to his wife. second one robbed him off his kingdom of entire universe earned in Rajsuya yagna. Man can make mistake once  , but here is the wisest of all men succumbing to vice twice.

    Was it really a vice? could Yudhistira put so much on stake? Did Sahadeva not forewarn him as astrologer. In case when we meet with misfortune our Astrologers suggest many remedies. mostly consisting of prayers. So it is meant to appease dieties and get away with the miseries written in destiny. But in our example Pandavas had very God Krishna by their side always ready to lend a helping hand whether asked or unasked for.( such was his love for Pandavas). Then why did he not give success in the Gambling to Yudhistira. Worst still his very art of dice control slipped away in favour of Shakuni.why in this case mighty men of the earth faced defeat/deciet ?

    Is astrology really meant for changing our destinies?
