Yes, it is ok for Yatis to travel abroad.
Earlier you had mentioned that the whole of earth was filled with Vedic knowledge. Gradually it started declining. So, finally it was confined to Bharat . It could be that to prevent the decline of Vedic knowledge here, yatis decided not to travel. It could be that they would propagate knowledge here and prevent the attrition here.Also, mlecha sambhasane, certain restrictions of the county, availability of food, culture of the people , availability of resources, opposition from unlike minded ppl etc would affect the practices abroad but that depends on the will of the person. With the sole intent to preach Dharma, nothing can be a hindrance.
Now, there are lot of ppl abroad who follow their duties religiously i.e., there are many hindu communities who recognise the need to do their daily worship and continue the culture(specific to ritual/worship) which their forefathers were doing and for whom staying abroad is unavoidable..
Also,envt is now conducive. Stay of yati(with certain restrictions) will give immense shradda to those ppl to do their activities thereby increasing and firming their faith on God.
Provided Yatis only intent would be to spread the word of God I believe it is ok for them to travel but there lies a serious hazard that every other person will sponsor/ insist that their Guru/Yati travel abroad and give pravachan/darshan which should be prevented by some means.
When great souls do travel it will ofcourse be for some great purpose..

Dear Karthik,
i appreciate ur respect for yatis. but what i’m trying to say is:
more power more responsibilty…..in madhwa style………..higher the tartamya(status) stricter the rules…..sanyasa ashrama is higher than grihasta. so if a grihasta goes abroad prarabdhavasha then there is prayaschitta but yatis who are torchbearers of madhwa sampradaya if they commit such mistakes then whats left? ordinary people will never understand or abide by dharma.
about ordinary people like us commenting on them……….dharmashastras say that when elders go astray younger ones can/should point out but not argue or condemn. for example if ur parents or any elder close to u is doing something wrong/unacceptable then won’t u warn them? or will wait for any outsider/stranger to do it? thats impractical. so when madhwa yatis make mistakles who other than madhwas (followers) will point out? and why would others care?. so its our job only.

@ viju sir : one small doubt can we blame/criticize yatis when we are not on a level of even comparison with those great souls ? one thing is that yatis among themselves may discuss/debate/argue whether they may travel to outside countries or not .. but not the ordinary guys like us ..
